Rank 4 can’t be matched with ranks higher than 5
They can and they get. I met already some R6 ships in hard (R10+) PvP. They had also one R10+ but that way they get in higher ranks were they shouldn´t be.

Yes but that is on the pilot. He meant, if you only equip R4, you should not see anything higher if you go into the queue. If you go R10+, you will of course.
but, anything lower than R7, you won’t be able to use, except in CtB, because of said ± rules. You will appear to others as having missing ships.
If someone who knows what he is doing, wants to underrank, its not really affecting a lot of people, but if a new player has to fight off way higher ranks than he expected, or doesnt try to bring ships of similar power with him, rules should prevent that from damaging himself and/or the team.
I would visually change the whole ship selection to be honest, and instead remove the minus part of the ± rule for fully synergized and equipped ships, and leave it with a visual warning instead. It should not only show which difficulty level your current Deck has, but also maybe show which ships will be (eventually) unusable before you hit the Launch button, or warn / hint you about missing modules, in a passive way. I really think, most of the confusion is remembering all the rules, which I do, and still I forget.
It might also explain to me, why some people have so little skill, but still only bring one ship to play. Probably the others are unusable.
I also spot some r3 ships in pvp like the axe-s most of the time

Nah Cin said it’s a finished product with future work potential. It’s obviously intentional  There’s no way they released this “Fix” to matchmaking half baked to live servers without proper testing.
