First I would like to say I don’t regard myself as an expert in any regard, I just started playing a couple days ago… but I absolutely love this game and want to help promote it and grow the userbase so queue times go down… oh and did I mention I love playing this game?
I would say I’m not too bad considering I only began playing about 4 days ago but I’ll let you be the judge… just beware the bad language. I have a very “creative” imagination let’s say.
Joppsta
First episode (a lot of waffle here as I am just introducing the game to people):
Just gonna say, kinda disapointed that you never finished your sins of a solar empire rebellion lets play.
What happened there was that I lost the save file due to Rebellion being updated and I just got fed up with Sins.
Since then I have played a few rounds but I think I prolong the game a bit too much, so if I do another LP of it, I’ll try a smaller map with aggressive AI.
I am looking forward to seeing more. Good work!
Thanks!
“armour tanking is better than shield tanking”
Well said
I say this after playing Caldari and trying to shield tank by the way

The problem is this game lacks the adaptative shield module, and you can’t omnitank with shields like you can with armor. I will take a look at your video later. Good to see more people are playing and enjoying this game. :01212:

If you’d have tried Jericho, you’d have felt the same.
However, in EvE, shield tanking is relatively better than armour, considering capacitor usage and shield/armour repair amounts.

No, the game has that. But it’s almost worthless on anything other than Ceptors and a few Fighters.

Not really, the one you are talking about only works when going full speed, and it works in both shield and tank. Is more of a speed tank, than a shield tank really.
In eve shield tanking is better because it doesn’t have speed penalties, and you can omnitank like a boss. Also Ancilliary shield boosters.

And missiles will push your xxxx in because those shield modules and rigs increase your sig radius exponentially. Yes, Anci boosters are all shiny but provide little help in PvP due to the overly long reload time. The solution I found around that was gankfit with minimal tank (I’d usually only have 1-2 tank modules). It took me a while to find the perfect fit, though, it wasn’t instant, I died a LOT in order to get a friggin 3.1 ratio (isk-wise, lemme tell ya, flying T3 ships as standard… not my most clever move, each of them was worth 30bill and I lost a lot of them).

My dual anciliary Hawk will disagree with you about PvP usage.
Gank fits are good in fast ships, like Cynabals and Vagabonds, but I prefer frigates when soloing, and support cruises when in fleet. My best ships are a light missile kiting crow and a HAM caracal for fleets. Also, HAM drake and Torp Raven for gank fleets, and Naga or Rohk for “standard” fleet ops.
And I have 27:1 kill ratio. Mostly because we have a superb fleet commander.

Oh, high ratios… I remember those boring, fleeting days in null-sec… That lasted 2 mothns, tops, for me. Oh, kill ratios. No, mine was at around 25:1. How did I ever manage to keep a positive isk ratio is beyond me.
I’ve done everything in EvE. From l1 missions to Wormhole Anomalies… From High-sec station ganking to fleet-wide combat. Flown from Mining Barges to Titans… And then I found the game boring. 90% of my time in-game was spent in low/null-sec, solo or in a 2/3-man fleet. Now that was fun…

Sure, I didn’t fly titans, and most of the time I was flying T1 cruisers in small fleets, 10 pilots max. I agree with you that everything except null roams and low sec gank, is boring in EvE. I left playing because I got fed up with gate camping and roaming always the same sector, and nobody wanted to go to wormholes, which is the only thing I have not done in the game. (aside from trading and manufacturing, but that is not high in my priority list)

I only flew the Avatar in battle once. It exploded after 3 hours of lag.
Gotta love when you have no idea about a game (EVE) but people start talking the jargon and you wish it was like English to you xD
Got another episode releasing in about half an hour, I messed with some recording settings after a friend said the quality on the video was poor but I’m not seeing it? Either way, a higher quality second episode coming your way!
I already gave it a go… and a guy I went to college with is a very successful EVE player, at least according to him. He has some big plan he’s told me about to gank a highsec ship with lots of arty ships, I think it’s the last Dread or something up in highsec? Owned by some well loved player of the community? I offered to film it for him (for lulz, all about the lulz) so, whether he does it or not is another question.
I am pretty sure he is crazy enough to pull some nutty stunt like that… and it is EVE so I mean, anything can happen. I still remember that guy that scammed millions of ISK and posted a “haha” video.
You EVE guys are nutters… but I think that’s what makes the game special in a way. If EVE dropped the subscription model I would give it a go, maybe I could pull some press strings and get subscription free, long as I made videos but I am not really that interested to be honest, I had bad experiences with it due to the skill curve… too “TL;DR” for my tastes. If somebody took me under their wing I am pretty sure I could rock socks though ^^
Anyway, enough waffling… here’s a new video! I played the PvE part, since I didn’t show it off in the first. I show how “knowledgable” I am also.
