Separate icon for Fuel in Open Space

It gets really annoying if you’re waiting for minerals to spawn (since there is no mining laser!!!) and you know there is fuel nearby but then you fly off and see the little cargo icon on your screen but it is just the fuel you knew was already there but it still confuses you multiple times because your HUD shows it from far away and you get off planar alignment so you think it could be a newly spawned *inhales for oxygen* mineral.

Would you guys mind changing fuel to its own icon? A little quality of life thing.

  • for this as it make distinguish things easier.

In reality the fuel thing needs a whole revamp. Any given ship doesn’t have a standardised amount of fuel. Things like Interceptors need a small fuel tank of 100pts or so. Fighters need 200, frigates need 300 and destroyers need 500. It just makes more sense that the larger the platform the more the fuel.

Or just treat it as 100%…and Frigates deplete slower since they have a bigger power core/energy reserves.

If your ship use more energy, it depletes more fast the fuel. Try to use afterburners and active modules.

This is both true and false. For whatever reason, fuel is not depleted due to energy use, but energy regeneration. (So yeah you got it.)

So if you have modules that use constant energy, they will nom fuel like nothing else.

Thanks, i didn’t notice that.

Mean this as a hypothetical change referencing Fox’s comment above.

The impact on what fox is saying is when resupply takes in: a single fuel cell will grant different recharge % to an interceptor than a frigate. In reality frigates would require more fuel cells…but looking at how it would affect gameplay its better to forget it xD; frigates already take much longer to reach fuel cells and then they would require to stay more time picking (and waiting for their respawn).

Vote yes on gas icon!

Well, our icon means the item in space pilots can pick up. Separate icons may be good, but not so necessary at the moment. Added it on a list)
