How about a notification in chat from the system that Sector Conquest has begun or will begin soon?? (the “soon” notification would be best I think, so corps can assemble a squad or wing before it starts)
I suggest it is provided in chat because generally the notifications at the right corner are ignored since they are routine, while everyone looks at chat.
Also it might get people more interested in playing SecCon, or finding out what it is if they don’t know.
Eh, it’s really not worth putting in…just more stuff to distract the developers from bigger game issues. Just click “Launch” and “Sector Conquest” and look yourself…it is already pretty simple imo

Some players are even too … You know… to do simple things. So help them a bit.

at the very least it’d be worth while because “Also it might get people more interested in playing SecCon, or finding out what it is if they don’t know.”

It is corporation content. If the corporation doesn’t inform their players, it is not the developer’s responsibility to do so. If they need additional information, there is information in the “?” symbol in the hangar if I’m not mistaken. If not, the developers could add that bit of info.

Just give up and say it’s a good idea. It’s a good idea.
Simple. Useful. And would make also the people who are not R10+ paying attention on that gamemode. So they’ll try to get into a corp and grow.

yeah but here I’m talking about people who aren’t in corps and dont know the benefits or even know secCon exists, they would see the notification and go “Oh hey, whats Sector conquest? Oh neat I have to join a corp to take part? Cool now I wanna join a corp or work harder to level my ships so I can take part.”
And even for people who are in corps it would be a really nice thing to be notified, because no one is going to routinely check if it’s going on - if you do that’s your own trip dude, I check maybe once a month when I remember it exists, and that never coincides with when it’s actually in the fight stage.
I get where you’re coming from, but it would be a great way to get people interested and participating and hook new players - until I decided to make getting into Sec Con a goal I didn’t care about getting to Tier 4 or 5. It gives the playerbase a goal, something to work toward.

… Or rank rush the poop out of everything, spam “i ned a corpurasion” in chat, fail miserably in sec con, and then proceed to bring T1s into T5 matches. Not entirely baseless accusations here, either.
But at the very least, a message for everyone that happens to be in a corp. I’d hope that that’d be possible to do. I mean, I can imagine how it might work, but can’t really say it applies since I have no idea how the chat works.
rushing isn’t that bad, even if someone rushes through to a rank, they will eventually have to take the time to learn it and (at least try to) get good at it.
Even if the notification was only for people who are in corps that would be fine since I mainly just want to see my guys start participating in it more.
As far they don’t get the whole ingame experience in PvE / Invasion just to get into Sector Conquest; and then even don’t know how to use buff auras, everything is good.

It is the above mindset that kills games. Developers should be in the habit of advertising the available content of their games. If the players are not aware of the content, or the start times of that content, then they don’t play that content. Players not playing key parts of your game is most certainly something developers should be interested in fixing.
I mean seriously, in what mainstream game have you played that you were not aware by reaching max level that their were these zone events, or raids, or bosses? If you consider Sector Conquest to be Corporation Content (thus end game) then you should be actively trying to get everyone interested in playing it.
Seems like the folks who are against this idea just need to find a reason to. . . taking time away from the game development. Seriously?
It’s a good idea, it doesn’t sound like it would be that hard to implement. Getting people to notice SC can’t be a bad thing, and having a reminder pop up before it starts would be a nice touch.
I personally dont know a game where this is incorporated.
The benefit is understood but, well, maybe overengineering
In Subspace:Continuum, the ‘system’ or volunteer Moderators (called them ZH’s for “zone helpers”) (and later scripted bots that took over a lot of Moderator duties) could make announcements about events happening soon that would go out to everyone on all servers, or just a single server, to just a particular zone. So for example this-> “<System>: Elimination Tourney starts in 3 minutes. Type ?join elim.” ← would be visible to everyone ingame and occur every few minutes.
Also DC Universe Online, and Planetside 2 there are rolling announcements letting users know about raid and instance availability, what factions/guilds/corps are doing best, or when special events are starting (PVP Faction Wars, Holiday events)
And SC has it incorporated with the announcement of the weekly top pve/pvp players.
