Well, I’m noticing that many of the kills I consider “mine”, are assigned to someone else.
I am not sure yet, but I think that the score is given to the one that hits the target last and finish it.
I don’t find this very fair.
Most of times, who starts an attack and damages most an enemy and risk his life, is the one who does not score the point.
Why?
Because who begins the attack, who deals the more damage to an enemy, is more likely to overheat his weapons before finishing him.
But honestly, if I deal 90% of damage to an enemy and see the last n00b coming and taking the score… not funny really.
It happens also to me, I find myself in a fight and just touch an enemy ship with my lasers and poof I kill it with 35 points damage.
Not fair.
This type of score assignment also leads to unfair behaviour from the players.
In fact, it is more rewarding to stay back, wait that somebody starts a fight, follow him and then take his score.
So my suggestion is to create a dynamic table for each ship, that takes care of WHO hit it in the last 20 seconds and how much, and the one who dealt more damage takes the kill, the others take the assist.
I find this much more fair.
Would you consider this suggestion?
BTW it would also be nice to know, at the end of the battle, the amount of damage dealt, which is also important exactly because the kill score system is not very fair as it is and it’s an important data to know how good a player is.
