Reduce the graphics quality of the explosions. Think of a full squad with properly built ships and coordination focus-firing a player who has low specs on his computer. Obviously when a player has higher settings the high quality explosions will show only for that player.
When the projectiles lock on make them move in a fibonacci spiral towards the target simply so it looks cooler.
Please state the explosion radius of the projectiles in the armory.

The gun is very strong at the moment because it deals raw damage. If it is implemented properly I assume it will be given a damage type so it should be more balanced as you will be able to have resistances against it. Right now you can 4 shot a guard

I have two shot a LRF. It deals explosive damage so against frigates it is deadly.
Also against big hitboxes like fed T5 fighters it is too good.
i also agree to the OP that the lag issue has to be identified and resolved. maybe its the animation, a shader, or anything else, but it shouldnt stop the ship or drop frames. i imagined i can see actually other ships stopping for a split second once i shoot them, i guess, if he gets lag? very strange. it never lags for me tho…
spirals - dunno about that. i would love that more with some other kind of weapon, and yah some kind of spirals, maybe, it could simply rotate the whole ammo around the target point, well, visuals. as long as it doesnt really cause lag again.

in the end it should still be subpar in damage to any other ceptor weapon, simply because it is homing.
i think homing is okay atm. it needs a specific range to get a full homing hit. that’s why i think, it does not really need any changes in the flight mechanics, only in the damage ones.
it should not be too easy to have a homing shotgun, we have enough nabweapons already.
i am thinking strictly about the “release version” if there is any. of course.

Scattergun is i think a good name for it. It’s not really original, since it is a pretty well known mod for space engineers atm, but i can’t think of any better name either. it is a gun, that scatters. maybe… bolter? it’s loud nuf.

Since it’s an explosive weapon, and since it kinda works at extremely close ranges, self fire would probably help balance a bit. The slower projectile and higher spread bit I agree with you on, though. The final version is all that really matters.
considering Orion cd is <30 seconds and E13 on top of that…
As I said I was using Eagle-B, but yes, like I said somewhere else, if the weapon becomes class specific weapon for Recons I think it would be much better than what we have now in every single game.
If you slap 3 horisons on a ship with it, then the projectiles essentially function as missiles. Or you could just bring them their intended effect by using 3 spread-reducers.
+1 on lowering the sprites for the emitters on the hit affect of this gun. Vs an ECM it is too much.

Spread should be just a bit higher. Though, I don’t understand why but when I equip it to my Sai the spread was 13…
I don’t know what you mean self fire. I heard on your video you clickin the hell out of your mouse. I can hold and fire for this weapon. Not that I do. I fire then literally turn away. For goodness sake I’ve got 2 seconds till I have to fire again.

Add on I stated this already. Proton wall should adjust the turn radius of incoming projectiles fired from a main weapon. Skilled players shouldn’t get getting punished as hard as they have been with the last few patches.

SORRY FOR USING CAPS. THERE IS NO BOLD OPTION FOR MOBILE. SELF FIRE MEAN YOU DAMAGE YOURSELF WHEN YOU DO AN EXPLOSION TO CLOSE TO YOURSELF LIKE THE ORIGINAL MECHANICS OF THE COIL MORTAR.

Please just delete this weapon. It’s not funny anymore if you die with to shots on an T5 fed interceptor… Take a look at Cr0 from WPK. One time he did 8000 dmg with a crit on my Mjolnir. 3 shots and im dead on it. Why do the developers create such overpowered weapons??? I’m so angry about it!! That needs to stop immediately!
