Rework the PvP queue options.

The following are intended to offer people a chance to choose between queue times and the experience they desire.

These Advanced Queue Options are accessed from the game options screen and only apply when solo-queued in PvP. Squads follow the current matchmaking model.

AQO offers the following:

REGIONS: All regions are listed and players can set their priority; High, Medium, Low or OFF.

GAME SIZE: Players can choose between Small (3-6), Medium (7-10) or Large (11+) games and set priority to High, Medium, Low or OFF.

High Priority options are always searched for by matchmaking.

Medium Priority are searched for after 2 minutes.

Low Priority are serched for after 5 minutes.

OFF are never searched for.

Players are warned via a popup each time they set an option to OFF that doing so may cause extremely long queue times and they are advised to choose “low” or “medium” instead.

All options default to High.

With that options, MM will be a nightmare. Too many options and too few people will equal to very, VERY long queue times.

Well this is the problem. I’m happy to wait 5 minutes for a 12 vs 12. I’m pissed if I get a 6v6 after a long wait. If I get a 6v6 after a short wait I’ll just disconnect and try again for a real match.

In short, I want small games only if the alternative is no game at all, not because MM shoved me in a 4v4 after 30 seconds when it could have waited 90 for a full game.

This would also give the Devs feedback - real feedback - as to player preferences.

How do you know it will be a 6v6 before you are put into the match? I don’t even dare imagine you flee from an ongoing game.

Not a good idea for more reasons than I care to name. I shouldn’t even have to name them to someone who reportedly worked on this game…

Or apply large sweeping balance patches to entire ship classes without differentiating between tier level.

To be fair, Kine did suggest a tierless progression that IMO is pretty nice.
