Reward and Ranking system

This game lacks a proper rating system.

 

People care too much about their destroyed ship rating (probably cos it is the only rating available although it is very misleading as a ranking ) they dont do whats best for the teams objective.

 

The best and easiest way to achieve such rating is just sit somewhere safe and get 1 kill every 2 matches. I have seen players with 0.5 kill and 0.5 assist ratios with 1300+ rating doing nothing all match other then standing at the spawn points. The higher the players rating the lesser they start contributing to a close match avoiding all risks . I have seen 1500+ rated players idling when all they had to win that match was to capture a beacon, showing no effort even at the very last min. I’d even argue some of the top rated players are actually the worst team mate you would want by your side.

 

The end game scores also are very misleading. Getting lots of assists by just being within a pretty big range of where the action takes place using a passive team buff awards some classes too much points as if they actually did something. You hunt down a target lowering his hp to 1% just to take an assist when someone does the killing blow compared to a heal buff getting assist rewards for every kill around him.

 

My suggestion is to balance buff assist,kill assist,kill and objective scores and add a player rating showing their average end game scores.

And call it pilot rating.

 

Moreover the reward for winning the match is not that much appealing when you already have all blues or purples. It isnt motivating enough. Most T3 players already have full gears and they care  more about their rating then actually winning.

That is exactly what has to be done. Adjust ingame scores and give everyone a rating based on scores. Remove the destroyed ship rating at least . Reward only the winning team with ratings credits etc. Losing team gets nothing so this game once more becomes an objective based game.

 

Noone bothers about the objectives anymore. They do deathmatch in every game mode no exception because all they care about at tier3 right now is the destroyed ship rating. Noone bothers capturing a beacon, planting a bomb. They dont even pick a bomb 300m away  cos they will be prime target and most likely die losing rating. They stay somewhere safe taking no risks killing easy targets. Every game i end up arguing with someone and getting frustrated with the game that i intend to enjoy.

 

I asked lots of 1500+ rated players why they dont contribute to team effort they replied they have every gear already, maxed every loyalty and they dont care if they win or not. Only think they care is the destroyed ship rating right now. And these players ruin all the fun for most players and half your team in every game consists of this kind
