Revise the Help Screen

Greets,

 

There are many issues that need to be fixed in the help screen, since this is what new players will click on first for…well, help.  If the information is wrong, then that’s a problem.  Mostly, it’s the devs being lazy and not correcting this page after each update where they change major ship bonuses.  Also, there should be something detailing the missile type for each class that has a special missile available.  I.E. Slowing field, Ion Beam Warhead, Combat Drones (engie), etc.

 

As for the “Support, Forum, FAQ, and Wiki” buttons…lol…

 

There are over 400,000 hits on the Wiki page alone.  And that page is so incomplete it is hilarious.  You guys really really really really need to be updating the Wiki.  Attacked Sectors isn’t even LISTED as one of the available game modes.  Wtf.  Also, some parts of the wiki are in russian…like the page will be half english, half russian…

 

Just help new players.  Devs, you really don’t seem to enjoy doing this, but try :slight_smile:

 

Equipment:  Right now, there is practically NOTHING described here that fits the title of the submenu.  New pilots don’t learn anything about equipment from this screen.  Add descriptions of different modification blocks (engine, capacitor, etc) and how those blocks can be utilized.

Contracts:  There should be information as to what contracts are for.

ECM Role Page:  First, am I simply not seeing the extra 10% hull/shield, or does it not exist?  The ship shows nothing of these increased stats.  Also, not all ECM modules are shown.

Recon Role Page:  Again, not all modules are featured, though they are all discussed.

Covert Ops Role Page:  Critical hit chance is wrong, not all modules featured, with some modules left out of the description.

Gunship Role Page:  A lot of information needs to be addressed.  First, gunships don’t receive 10 pts of negative resists…which honestly would be great, since they’re overpowered.  Secondly, the damage boost is not just 5%…it seems to be about 15% for pretty much every gunship in the game, with a few exceptions.  The lowest is about 8%, and it is the Piranha B2 that has this.  Third, nothing is mentioned about the gunship speed module.

 

Also, I didn’t know Jericho had gunships…look at the picture :slight_smile:

Command Role Page:  First, command ships receive 25% energy boost, not 15%.  Second, the page says commands have “hull AND shield” durability.  No command has this.  In fact, no race except federation has a balance of this.  So maybe Jericho shouldn’t have command, since we all know their hulls are complete xxxx.  Federation would make more sense for command ships.  Third, not all command modules are discussed, namely the coating polarizer.

Tackler Role Page:  The “Role” of tackler is debatable in this description.  There are times where those ships are the least threatening to a team.  But I see the point…maybe the phrase could be edited to clear confusion.  Also, not all modules are discussed, particularly the Inhibitor Beam.  Other than the above listed, there’s not much wrong here.

Long Range Gunship Role Page:  Reverse thrusters are not mentioned.  Also, is there really a 20% penalty to hull/shield?  If so, maybe the ships should show this so it’s more obvious.

Guard Role Page:  So guards are said to enhance defences of ally ships.  Oh really now?  Since when?  If that’s the case, then how about a revamp of command and guard modules?  Give guards shield/hull resistance aura and give command a module that boosts shield regen by a significant amount and one that increases ally projectile speed.  Also, the description says that guards have amazing hull and shield durability.  Currently, guards are screwed after their shields go down… Also, their main weapons deal less damage?  Then having a damage boost with phase shield doesn’t make much sense, since this was supposed to be a weakness for the class.

 

Lastly, why is emergency shield boost even here?  It’s not class specific.

Engineer Role Page:  This page needs work.  The description of the class is okay, but it lacks details as to key functions of engineer ships.  The Eclipse launcher isn’t even mentioned.  The combat drone description is awful, and doesn’t describe their function in a clear and concise way.  Also, the descriptions for any hull repair module of any sort is not mentioned.  Engineers are only described as repairing shields.  

 

And, not sure if anyone else noticed this, but it’s a jericho ship in the picture xD  Speaking of a Jericho engineer, why is there not one?  A whole race of super technologically advanced people don’t have this?  Ok.  Makes sense I guess.  Add a Jericho engineer with crazy shield stats, but weak hull.  And make their buildings much more durable and powerful.

I really wish the devs didn’t use misleading artwork in their tooltips like that.

 

But for the record, Emergency Shield Boost IS class specific. It’s a Guard-Only thing. You’re thinking of a different, but similar module. The Guard’s version is far stronger.

There is a Machete AE in the gunship photo.

There is a Neutron zealot in the engineering photo.

There is a Hydra in the guard photo. (Non shield based guards must suck tho)

There is a tackler(cant remember the name) in the command photo.

 

Uggggggghhhhh so misleading.

Did anyone checked, if the DLC pictures, which are listed on all 6 DLC’s are still misleading?

Check DLC description, then look at the picture and you will know.
