By logic… Reverse Thruster should disengage EM Scattering Field… or does it an I’m just not paying attention?
Following your logic using weapon overcharge, tachyon charge, and multipurpose modules would disengage the EM scattering field. Only using the WASD keys disengage the cloak.
Well Efefay, it IS movement, so it’s not the same as enabling a module.

It does not. But LRF are for players who don’t cut it in real ships, be happy they’re finally moving somewhere, even if only backwards.

LOL
@AlliN
It’s activating a module.
@Snib
I find that insulting but you probably don’t care o_________o
Anyways I find that good LRF players can use this module very well. Can be used at evading obv, quick and easy repositoning. Also suppose you are doing LRF up close. You decide to run and someone is chasing you down. Use module and warp behind enemy and give him a swift kick in the rear.

Thats kind of my point… an lrf can just EM field and bounce all over the map and stay invis for the whole match… shoot… move … shoot move… with the cool downs as they are now its a perm invis ship on the field
You can tell where they went by warp graphics. Also they aren’t really invisible. ELRFs will always show the tell-tale laser sight beam. When JLRF warps look in direction of warp then just wait for the missile trail.
Honestly tracking down an LRF is pretty easy for me.
Anyways I noticed that you can’t activate mines any longer while in Guided Torpedo mode. Has it always been like that?
It didn’t matter if you saw the trail if they are able to just warp out as soon as you see it. Still invisible and all you know is where they were when the last shot was fired. They stay hidden regardless.
Hmm… Good point. But stealth is a specialty of JLRF.
I use the Reverse Thruster, i kicked the EM Scattering field out for it, because i’m always moving around.
Example Combat Recon: I fly to the captain and get healed with Eclipse Launcher by Squadmate, i fly into the enemy fleet and shoot at the captain and drop minefield, enemy captain down, my hull is at 3000 - Jump!
For players like me who don’t want to die is this module excellent, u can encounter Dogfight situtations without care about ur life, because u can easily jump away.
I stay outside of the map, sometimes an inty can see me and TRY to kill me, i drop minefield jump away, enemy is confused stay in the minefield and dies, or i give him the rest with my disintegrator.
This module is for so many situations useful especially to annoy those annoying JLRFs, they shoot torpedo on me, i wait, until they hit me i jump to a position where i can kill them easily.
My opionion about this module is that it increases the fun of LRF gameplay extremely. (And it’s a little bit OP because u don’t drop the bomb if u jump in Detonation)
I think the mod is excellent. It’s the combination with em field that has my logic messed up. It’s a thruster, it produces movement, it should break em field.
By logic… Reverse Thruster should disengage EM Scattering Field… or does it an I’m just not paying attention?
By logic you should be perfectly still to use the field, as in no inertial movement, no turning. But if you get some speed and activate it, you can fly half the map invis.
So probably only the main thrusters break it.

Mate, that is rule number 1 of snipers. Shoot & Move. Never shoot from the same place twice.
Now, I will say, having 3 or more snipers on one team who are ignoring objectives just to up their Killcount is counterproductive to the entire game. But that’s a failing of game design, not of the ship itself. LRFs work great as snipers. I just don’t think this game needs a sniper class.
Reverse Thruster aka most annoying module out there.
LRFs were always annoying that’s why I loved them… but now it’s just insane
When they lose shield they jump.
now all of them use this pattern:
Cloak -> pew pew pew with 7km ions -> lose shield -> jump -> use F module -> wait for cloak to reload -> get max speed -> shut down engine
repeat that until enemy is dead or just use terrain to don’t care about you

Not if you can kill it fast with ECM or covert ops  I’ll try to record a battle when there’s a lrf using that.

You don’t need to kill it fast. Collision cancels the reverse jump, just position yourself correctly (a well placed micro-locator might do it, too, but have yet to test that).
Didn’t you see MrDuck raging about me exploiting because he couldn’t jump away from me?

*Why am i surprised?*
of course he did

So you can see how a̶w̶e̶s̶o̶m̶e̶ crappy I fly?
On Topic: In sc I like to stick on a frigate sometimes while engaging so their whole team is helping me destroy my target
