I think the mod is excellent. It’s the combination with em field that has my logic messed up. It’s a thruster, it produces movement, it should break em field.
Actually this is wrong. The Reverse Thruster does NOT produce movement. It simply changes the ship’s position. The EM Scattering Field is disengaged when a player *moves*, not when a player changes position. Because, of you were paying attention, when you teleport you keep perfectly still. That’s because this module was meant for LRFs and LRFs only. Imagine this on a CovOps or Guard!

That’s patently wrong (there’s be no collision interrupting the movement if it was a teleport), but you guys should stop trying to argue around game design decisions with ideas of how things should according to some supposed higher logic anyway.
EM field is programmed to only cancel when you press the move forward/backwards/left/right keys, the strafe left/right keys, or when you initiate movement via any of the speed control keys. End of story.
When they lose shield they jump.
now all of them use this pattern:
Cloak -> pew pew pew with 7km ions -> lose shield -> jump -> use F module -> wait for cloak to reload -> get max speed -> shut down engine
Don’t know about you, but that’s not how I use it.
I prefer to fly to a beacon, mine it, shoot at incoming intys and then reverse jump back into my fleets protective embrace.
Or I fly ahead of the pack, wait for every single enemy on the frontline to target me, I hit them with IR Jammer, and jump back to my fleet before they can engage.
Or and inty decides to single me out as I punish larger targets from the middle of my team’s formation, I pop mines, shoot him on approach, he starts to circle me and pops a plasma arc, I jump backwards and use my 6K range Mk V lasers to carve him into bits for thinking I was an tasty snack.
What you are describing is the dumb way to use the module. Creativity is so much better.
Get an Atlas, fit this module, cloak beam cannons and aimbot, include a repair kit. Enjoy the killing farming with almost near impunity.
It is so broken I’m not using it anymore. I feel dirty when I use the aimbot alone, but this… this is too much easy mode for me.
