Name: Resource Crystal
Type: Passive Shield Modification for Command Fighters
Function: As the ship deals damage of any kind, it charges up the crystal until it forms a barrier around the ship for .5 seconds then exploding and dealing damage around the ship in a 500m radius.
Details and leveling: Starts at Tier 4. Mk1 module at Tier 4 takes 25000 damage to charge fully and deals 3000 damage when it activates. Mk4 module at Tier 4 takes 15000 damage to charge fully and deals 5000 damage when it activates.
For some reason I thought that something similar to this was already added, and was confused when I could not find it in the armory. I also remember a ship attacking me and some friends in invasion and turning slightly invincible with a large white bubble then damaging us all. The mechanics seem like they would work in-game with some tweaking, but I’m not 100% sure how you programmed activation. It may have been damage TAKEN instead of DEALT, but I could be mistaken. The passive module icon was a large, blue diamond-shaped object that took up all dimensions of the square, if that jogs any memory.
Edit: the white bubble that surrounded his ship seemed to make him temporarily invincible or something, because I could not damage him while it was activated. It was also activated twice in the fight, followed by his emergency barrier. That’s when he got away.
Edit II: could possibly be a crafted module involving lots of “Crystal Shard”, “Osmium Crystal”, and “Screened Battery” (for storing the energy) :3
Edit III: (lore): After the aliens invaded, Jericho scout teams found a Hunter craft floating out in to space seemingly without pilot. They paralyzed it with an ECM ship to make sure it was safe, then took it in for further research. They found that under its incredibly strong hull, it was composed of Crystal flakes that had a high energy potential. After some tinkering, they realized that this new resource had the amazing ability to draw the excess heat off of weapons and focus it in to a sort of “shell”. If enough crystals got enough energy, the shell could cover an entire ship! It could only be stabilized, though, if it was attached to a diffusion module, generally inside of Command Fighters. The Jericho military wanted to make this new device a mandatory part of their builds, but because of how the crystals were obtained, this was impossible. Now, the devices are sought after by mercenaries that want just a little more bling on their shiny ships and can only be afforded by the extremely rich. Though the schematics for production of them was leaked by a Hacker some time ago so pilots can build these themselves if they have the resources…
