Tackler pilots are starting to favour Drones over inhibitors. And it’s really terrible watching them do that. But hey, as a Ceptor pilot, I’m not gonna complain.

 

Actually i met a guy in skirmish yesterday that won over me in score by using drones. He was playing really nice, i’ll try to emulate it today actually. Get behind an interceptor (or whatever else), slow him, drop heavy drone 200M near him, watch the fireworks. He was basically 1 shotting every interceptor with the drone after the slow effects were stacked (well not 1 shotting, they were usually softened up 'till he got into the 200m range).

Max slow + drones are deadly if the Ceptor decides to go after you. The drones just destroy him. However, the cards are turned VERY fast if the Ceptor decides to kill off one of the drones. Tackler dies or is forced to cloak…

Some pilots are useless, no point in avoiding it.

SenC, that son of a gun. His tacklers are hard to counter, what with cruise engine, gravi beams, and both drones. He can harass you all day until you die. Hard to get rid of him by using a frigate, even.

 My Tiger II complete op do you know why? because of the %25 tackler effect bonus. My heavy drone deals 6913 damage , sentry 2763 . Now Lion Mk2 heavy drone has 6000 damage ,sentry 2400 , and they are T5 modules!!.   Ship speed 700 with 1 cruise engine, with 2 adaptive shield  resists are

shield kinetic 154  /  em;94  /  thermal : 124

Hull     kinetic 165 / em 169 / thermal 139

Shield booster gives 3608 , repair kit gives 3420 points, I can cloack run fast heal and return to finish job. While my drones shooting at you my guns will slow you down over 4200 distance I dont need inhibator. If you choose to shoot me my drones kill you , if you choose to shoot my drones my guns and rockets loves you. There is only 1 pilot I try to avoid and he is Yehalex, great covops very dangerous he is the only reason of my hull kinetic resists…   

 

I believe Devs made a mistake here; premium version of this ships (panther) bonuses force you to use kinetic guns (but why), no other useful bonus except %10 critic damage. Sorry but %25 effect bonus way better than premium one + %25 rotation bonus is a real bonus. very helpfull on cruise engine. 2 adaptive more than enough , energy is the key against ecms I prefer 3 slot not 2, any ecm will drain you with 2 capasitor slot. In the end tiger II way better than premium panther…

When i fly an interceptor, i wish there are more of these on enemy side, so i can win my games faster

It comes down to your personal preferences. You like to fly that way, with cruise engine and drones while others might enjoy good old brawler builds with railguns or gauss sniper.

For you, maybe. But for someone who prefers a different playstyle, panther might be miles better. Again, its upto your personal taste

 

Yours is a very niche build and doesn’t even fulfil the role of tackler appropriately.

Good, one less tackler to worry about in the enemy team! If you are having fun with that build it is ok. But really, it is far from effective.

 

I love the current tackler spam. In a game were most if not all of the objectives are stationary, and team battles area always static, this kind of ships are almost useless, and you can just ignore them.

I’m using normal engines, not cruise (i’m brawling on the tackler), + target painter, engine inhibitor, heal, + heavy drone. The heavy drone is xxxx awesome in close range brawling. 7.2k(mitigated it’s still good) damage, if it lands 1 shot, it’s already done it’s job. But it usually lands more than 1 shot. Even if the enemy switches on it, they lose at least a couple of seconds to take it down, that’s time that they are not circling me (if they are inties) so i’m still hapilly shooting them. If they don’t shoot it down and fight me in a 300m area around the drone, they are in for a surprise. 

This is the VS intie case. VS bigger querry…no comment. Takes down guards with EM damage, takes out command shields, it’s surprise damage 101. 

 

Conclusion: I like big drones and i cannot lie.  

Good, one less tackler to worry about in the enemy team! If you are having fun with that build it is ok. But really, it is far from effective.

So far I only care about the light one. The big one can’t hit even Tormentor from more than 500 m.

 

In fact, against a tackler the best way to deal with them is just killing them. If they run, you can just get out of the range of the drones. If they brawl, you can kill them easy because they usually don’t have any slowing module, making the EM drone useless.

 

And if they cloak, same as if they run, you can just get away from drone range, or just turn back and kill the drones.

 

So far I didn’t have any kind of problem dealing with them, except if I’m very low on health and a light drone happens to finish me.

I checked the post and was surprised no one asked for these. Sorry if they are duplicate requests.

 

My slightly odd builds. You could view booster circuit as a bonus to hit chance. Multiphase generators as bonus to dodge because I use them for manuvering more than speed. Most my ships have around 4KM range. With enough projectile speed to get to the target in .5 seconds for optimal range rather than max.

Also, I spend the GS to make my CO ships black. It is more or less invisibility when you are not afterburning…

Reverting back to the point of this thread, I’d like to see a Sai build (w/ pulse lasers).
