I would like to be able to cancel this mission, since I’m not going to do it. My one destroyer is rank 8, and my pilot rating just went down 400 points because I entered a rank 8 Skirmish attempting to do this assignment. I do not have destroyer chops for Skirmish. I do not want to fly destroyers in Skirmish at any level. I was able to complete this mission in co-op vs AI all the way up to October 19. If it is no longer possible to do these in co-op vs ai, I would like to cancel this instead of having it in the agenda.
lol xD let me place in the devs place: Add an option to please 1 guy vs possibly get a lot of fire from people who accidentaly canceled the mission (almost like the alien ammo thing). If you really care so much about the pilot rating, simply ignore the mission…you will still be seing the broker icon cause i can easily assume you dont do leagues.
They can either let it be done in co-op versus AI, or they can impose a bunch of people who can’t do anything with destroyers in Skirmish. I kept an open mind and tried it in Skirmish. I was in 8 losing battles to get the 15 kills. Every battle, I was thinking: I sure do wish I was in a ship I like and can get stuff done with. With rank 12 ships (which aren’t destroyers), I am much more part of what is going on, and I can’t even remember getting more than 1 loss in a row at rank 12. This just isn’t my thing, but I do like destroyers for pve, open space and some co-op vs ai.
Practice makes perfection. I also avoid pvp with destroyers. Especially with a 2 destroyers vs 2 destroyers scenario. Put some other ships in your lineup (some destroyer killers) and use the destroyer for pvp only if you are going to be confortable with it. Positioning is key with destroyers.
This will mitigate your problem with pilot rating.
I just go in, blast people, die, rinse and repeat and ta-daa=score. But still the pilot rating means little to nothing unless you are trying to unlock the pro title and thats pretty much it.
I mean… I like to have a “high” rating and I dislike playing destroyers in pvp too but getting to around 8000 rating from 0 at r15 does not even take much time and you are talking about 7000 which is even easier. (But damn, as soon as we slot a suppressor, we get full dest vs full dest battles with the occasional teammate that picks his tackler instead of his destroyer even though the enemy has full destroyers and then flies right into them because he is faster than any of his allies.)
If this is a request for devs to let us do the task by coop again, it is way too subtle and does not make sense. (And I don’t think subtle and nonsense go well together.) Also losing pilot rating from 7000 rating by a r7-10 pvp means you were not one of the top players on board in that battle and that is your fault since as far as I remember, we can get to around 7500 rating by r8 pvp. It even increases to 8100+ rating when you fly a r10 ship. (r10 most probably has a higher rating cap if there is any and it is definitely higher than r8 but 8100ish was the highest I got by playing r10 only.)

I did say it was 8 losing battles. Every battle I take a destroyer into is a loss. After writing that, I remember there were 1 or 2 more the night before, so it was 9 or 10 lost battles in a row because I took destroyers into rank 8 skirmish. I don’t even care anymore. I check and see if I can do this in co-op vs ai each night (like I could up until Oct 20) then forget it. I’m not even trying it in Skirmish. Not interested.
