Well… dead enemy cannot cap b@cons :006j:
This is primarily because it is very easy to stat pad and promotes overly cautious gameplay
Exactly. The old skill rating system was changed to prevent stat farming. Farming K/D is extremely easy to do, and is also a great way to lose more games than you would otherwise. The moment you give pilots something to focus on besides winning the battle, your team will become much less effective, and people won’t work together nearly as much.
In recruitment standards, win/loss should be the most important stat to look at.

Farming average kills is also easy… Just go to t3 and chew up Aces in silent foxes
I think we should invent a new stat: Average pew pew pew per battle (APPPPB), defined as total number of shots and missiles fired/total number of battles. This would be a very useful recruitment tool, as you can know who goes crazy on their mouse or not.

While the name sounds great, I fail to see how such a stat would help recruitment.

you get as many L as you deserve and not as many as you wish for!

I did not see JPHack around…
Win ratio is simply the best single stat to look at, because at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what your other stats are as long as it gets you the win.
A lot of game-turning actions can net a win but not show up in stats.
And K/D naturally biases towards ships where racking up kills is their primary function.
For example, someone could have a terrible K/D, but win a lot because they play primarily Engineer or any support ship.
Exactly what Gene said.
Showing a K/D ratio would only make people stray away from team play, something that this game is designed around.
as all agree K/D wont make it into the game
