Repelling beam compared to Gravi Wave

 

ship class: Destroyer

active modul: repelling beam

usage: pilot needs to aim and it deals damage mainly through collisions of target with objects but it rarely kills the target.

 

ship class: Waz Got

active modul: Gravi Wave

usage: pilot does NOT need to aim or see the enemy. no target lock needed. modul can instantly one-hit kill a full and well fitted vigilant (destroyer).

 

Wazgot Gravi Wave is overpowered, please balance it!

Or i want to suggest to remove the Gravi Wave from the game.

Simple fix: they need to be swapped. The immobility of destroyers would make the gravi wave much more tactical and useful. Repelling beam would just be a “shoo fly” module for engi.

Wait. Vigilant is a slow cow flying ~120m/s. Waz Got has ~230 m/s. You are saying Waz’Got was allowed to close in to almost melee range on Vigilant staying near the obstacle? Or Vigilant closed in on Waz’got in enclosed space? If the second is the case - why Vigilant was chosen if the fight was in enclosed space? You are posting about removing basically the only defensive module engineer has if zeroed in by close range, agile enemies. Situation when this module is effective against destroyer shouldn’t even happen as it is an example of terrible positioning :confused:

Even without it is offensive, certain maps (Abandoned Complex & Destroyed Station) just have spots where you can make a tons of kills just with a gravi wave because the maps design just sucks while heaving such modules in game.

make the 9c implant the counter (among other modules that use the shield to take damage from collision. with it on you should not be able to explode unless your shield is gone, devs should fix this as currently even with it on you go *poof* when your ship hits something hard enough head-on even as a frigate wiith full hull and shield.)
