since there was no way to negatively impact the gameplay of your team in pvp/pve/co-op/open space prior to the implementation of destroyers I’d consider this an oversight regarding their modules.
as it stands there are players who are either too stupid/don’t care about placing their gravitational lens or deliberately target your ship with it. I couldn’t tell and i honestly don’t care, it should not be possible to influence others with it -> see attachment; that guy killed my ship two times in fire support by placing gravitational lens on top of it (second wave with three snipers and two of either rocketeer/butcher/suppressor)
if programming this is not possible/too much effort I’d suggest to at least consider this a bannable offense (if on purpose)… sad world where you have to discourage players from being jerks but that’s how it is
Personally I don’t see a problem with lens. Contrary it should even do dmg to its owner. And when placing lens is punished, then should be also guided torpedo/bomb/shield havoc etc.
Like Lord_Xenon, for me the solution is not to remove friendly damage from gravitational lens, but to add damage to its owner. It’s a shame, but if friendly damage is removed, then… you will end getting a OP module even more. Can you imagine the impact on PVP?
With damage to its owner, the destroyer will be more careful to use it about or near himself. Aside of removing friendly fire, it could be nice to have a way to punish those players who use it against its teammates.
Gravi Lens always was a controversial subject, that’s why we’re working with it’s balance a lot. We’re still discussing the possibility of hurting the owner, but I don’t think that friendly fire will be ever removed from it.
Friendly fire? theres no friendly fire from gravity lens, not even for the owner. You only got the pull…which is debuff, not friendly fire. Friendly fire implies dmg caused. Self damage should be really implemented…and perhaps friendly fire in dreads.
