As I mentioned before those ranks was chosen, cause they’re most popular. What do you think about how this system should be look like?
Can you explain ‘most popular’? Because you changed the system of PvE from 1-3 4-9 and 10-15 to 1-5 6-10 and 11-15.
7 is for me meh, as you have 1 active module less and many stats/slots not.
10 seem to be okay and with the PvE useful.
13 can be okay.
At least for 7 it would be nice to have it with 7-9 counting.
Guys, stop crying about this ships. They are premium. And they can obtained for free. I’ve calculated that you can get up to 10 parts a day, and this is very similar to what devs think (60 days to get the Brokk = 10 parts/day). Should I remind you that to get a SP ship you need 3+ months from scratch?
Devs have done some mistakes (And I won’t talk further about this…), but this time they gave us free stuff at the price of a reasonable grind.
For one time, be thankful.
i’m lazy i’ll just buy the ship i want
Shon is right…
I know nobody like the grind. But you got a chance to get a premium…FOR FREE…well you pay with your life (time) xD
Price and value will always seem too much or too low to someone. Depends on individual perspectives on stuff (time, grind, effort bla bla).
However, i find it somehow strange that r7 is the most popular rank… :)) Thats first rank into T3… I may be thinking wrong but first thing that came to my mind when was reading this is that the reason for r7 popularity…is manily from statistics… and that happens because fresh income of people get up to r7 and maybe abandon the game after that, because they face lot harder opponents…plus destroyers. Somehow fun fades out and they leave. Thats how statistics could show r7 as popular. Just bigger population on that rank, because of those reasons.
Just my tought. I might be wrong, i dont know whats going on on lower tier, i rarely go there (i do but rarely). Assuming from my own experience of progression over T2 and T3…but then again that was years ago. T3 represented significantly bigger grind to sync the ships and to build up the right components. It helped having licence, but thinking about if i didnt have it… well… i can imagine it takes quite a while.
On the other hand… i think that devs intentionally put those premiums on first rank of each tier in order to encourage the use of those ranks.
Actually wherever i play, i dont seem much of those ranks.
I mean if you wanna encourage usage of those ‘first ranks’…or let just say use of all ranks in specific tier, just reduce the preformance gaps among them. Yes they are small, but i wont go using r13 guard if i have r15, you know… It just preforms better. Must not forget to mention implants here. r15 is using all implants while r13 only 13.
Perhaps rework of implants to affect entire tier.
Sorry, got bit side tracked…kinda got behind the “why you must grind this rank” thing.
Even tho the daily part limit is a ‘rumour’ here is what i have discovered.
Part income slows down and stops after a while and become increasingly rare until there is no way to reliably ‘grind’ for them.
Also seems connected to neo and bery drop rates as games within these ranks yield the same rareity after certain amounts of parts had been accrued. In other words i found none.
80 parts over 8 days, 14 of which from bundles.
8.25 parts a day as an average figure.
73 days for Brokk. 49 for Stingray. 25 for Archelon.
This is with games played with all same rank in lineup through pvp, pve and specops. Lots of them.
Not complaining. I just find it better with a realistic expectation/estimate to achieve a goal. A range between 1 month and two and a half probably not too bad considering they are premium ships and these figures are assuming total non payment on the part of the player. Their ‘special’ abilities are a different matter altogether tho. As is the restrictiveness of the the Ranks required to receive them.

I suspected so…

Except we’ve all seen it first hand. Are you saying that multiple players have, by pure coincidence, received 5 or so ship parts at a rate of 1-2 per match and then hit a dry spell every day and that was entirely due to random chance?
CinnamonFake (Today, 04:24 PM):
Good old random chance. Illuminati isn’t confirmed.
Well I don’t buy it, and nor does anyone else.
The giveaway is that this drought isn’t hitting anyone early on. That alone is suspicious. If I go by the first five wins each day I calculate the drop rate to be approximately 20% chance. If I go by the first fifteen wins the odds drop to around 3%. This is true every single day.
So which is it? Because if the drop rate is 20%, the odds of not getting a single part for forty loot attempts in a row is 1 in 10,000.
If the drop rate is 3%, the odds of getting five in twenty drops is 1 in 100,000.
The odds of doing both of these things five times in a row is simply too large to accurately convey.
The odds of multiple players all experiencing this is statistically too improbable to be worth considering.
As such, based purely on probability assessment, Koromac is correct and you are not.
Yep about 5 parts daily almost 100% guaranteed each win then drops off (For 4 maxed ships of required rank). I don’t mind this for the premium ship parts but it would be nice if it wasn’t tied to the neo/beryllium
How many players need to confirm this is how drops work before you admit your official statement is false?

That will never happen. What a lot of you fail to realize is Cinnamon is just a forum admin. Yes I know his title says developer but truth be told he’s just a customer service minion. He’s doing his job quite well in that regards.
Having known many forum admins in the past…one thing I’ve learned is the Dev team rarely shares insider info about patches with them. More often than not they have the same info we do from the patch notes just maybe a day or two earlier.
So give him a break all he can do is pass along info to the dev team…it’s on them to actually use that information productively.
I also noticed this 5 drop guaranteed, and then dropping off. Now, since we are getting nowhere with the “probability and calculations” approach, lets try something else. Please, anyone that plays at least 10 rank 7, 10 or 13 pvp games per day (preferably 20+) record in a table, which of your games dropped ship parts. Post this table in this thread in some form or another, every day for a few days. Also copy the logs files for that session and put them safe somwhere in case they are needed, since “no log → no bug”. Please do not be biased and only choose the “good days”.
Once we have enough evidence to back our claim, instead of spreading rumours that are deemed false, I will post a full bug report in the proper form, and have skula or the appropriate dev investigate this. It could be a mistake in the coding or something. Now it might mean that this advantage of 5 guaranteed is removed, but that is the price for knowing.
Cinnamon, please leave this thread open or move to the offtopic section until we post the bug report or come to our own conclusions that there is no bug. I believe this is fair.

Was not my intent to spread falsehood nor for any comparison to Koro. Only as a record of my actual experiences in the game over the last 8 days.

It’d be nice to see and compare notes but if its random its random. Let that be the end of it. I’d rather not have the few parts that are randomly gotten changed, as i said before have no complaints with the accrual rate at the moment. Nor am i trying to calculate any droprate. I like many want to form my own estimate as to how long it will take me, not figures for the ‘average’ player. Same as when a new player is working out how many games/dailies they might need to go through to level a ship or advance in rank. If it really is a bug then i dont see it being overlooked for long as it involves resources, game economy and possibly dem monies.
I don’t mind the grind, but forcing on us R7 & R8 & R10 ships for parts & monos is just wrong.

I didn’t expect it at all… Well, that’s why he hasn’t been active recently.
Anyway, Java is right. I’ll record my drops, but I’m pretty sure there’s no conspiracy behind these drop rates.
CinnamonFake (Today, 09:43 AM):
All of them
Well that certainly sums up how you handle player feedback - unless every player says it, you conclude nobody actually wants it.
I don’t know is it just a coincidence but I get the same results as Koromac, JCNB…
Koromac was sent to GULAG for a time for spreading such rumors. All because they’re not true.
Haaah haahahaha xD he has to peel potatoes?
Anyway, just saying that there might be a way that devs dont tell you everything, just tell you that rumors arent true and you must deal with it? Maybe?
It has occoursed my times in OS i got 2 berries in matter of an hours… and then nothing for next few hours… every day, the same pattern. When you are repeatedly doing something and game behaves on similar way…
What do you think, what kind of conclusion comes from that?
Koro may be annoying with truckload of suggestions and brag about stuff he has, but he aint making stuff up out of nowhere. Note that this decreasing drop rate has been noticed by many different people. Calling it a ‘chance’ is just arrogantly ignorant…(dem words…) …if there is a pattern, it cant be random chance. Because PATTERN. Unless its really a strange random chance that everyone has similar experience :)
Then i call it black magic… voodoo… game ghosts
