can i join i want to become a gm my name is ZEuS in game i am the officer of the top 3 corp The Corp reply fast plz
Anyone is welcome to apply, but I would recommend reading the ‘requirements’ as listed by Error carefully - and considering whether or not you have sufficient experience and exposure within the community to currently meet said requirements. (This is aimed at anyone considering to apply for a GM position, not any person specifically)
A decent knowledge of the game is an important quality as well.
Additionally, I would strongly consider why you wish to be a GM and ensure you elaborate on this in your application.
This is not a ‘fast’ process either - if your application looks promising, you will be invited for an interview and will have to come across as the right kind of person for the role. Both Skype and Teamspeak are mandatory tools - and a (working) microphone is invaluable.
Bear in mind also that you require to be at least 18 years old.
I would just like to comment it has seemed that the mods have been more relaxed lately in the game chat and the community has been more talkative. Thank you.
I can definitely state that I was observing chat closely last night - but let a lot of things slide that were previously punished quite quickly.
That said - we remain strict on any forms of abuse, personal attacks or other grief towards other users. This is behaviour that cannot, and will not, be tolerated.
There is almost always a GM around, so if you start taking offence - simply use the report system as per before - or ask if there is a GM around.
Question: how is the worth of a ban analyzed - context or words used? Or both? Just wanna know, since there’s a ‘lolword filter’ that at least partially works.
(i always go with ‘words were created to be spoken’ and usually care about the context only, not the words themselves)

It’s not quite as black & white as this. Any mute at least I consider takes into account the context, the person who caused the offence (known troll? Repeat offender? Likes to push the boundaries for the heck of it? Has been stirring trouble or pushing the lines on purpose?), what was said, how it was said, etc.
There are some words which are outright unacceptable - these mostly venture into racism territory or religious intolerance. When it comes to medium transgressions (political or religious discussions, for example) I will often make a blanket warning or a request to the users to start a new line of topic. After this warning, I will not warn again and people will get muted if they refuse to listen. The rules are often quite clear on these things and one reminder should be enough. If someone chooses to continue after a warning, that puts the situation entirely in their own hands.
Yes, there is a filter - but there are things which are simply not acceptable in public. The filter I use is ‘common sense’ - imagine you would be in a room of people (which you are in Global Chat) and what kind of things would be totally unacceptable and land you a punch in the face from a random bystander. If you need to think about whether or not something is inappropriate, it probably is and you should just try and say something else instead.
Or as a wise man once said: If you have nothing constructive or useful to say, best say nothing at all.
Saying that I had already said publicly that ships cannot be sold (and a few others said the same numerous times for the past 2-3 minutes), asking if you can sell ships over and over is spamming. Otherwise, I try to answer questions as aften as I can.
Gotta do something while waiting for 5 min queue’s! Oh wait, they don’t got such long queue’s since if they did, T5 would start in mere seconds >:)
And sometimes the same Ace questions are getting annoying I agree, since it’s hard to know if it is a troll or not. I asked the same when I started, since I had WoT in my mind while playing the game and was wondering if I could sell my ships.
But a proper tutorial can kinda fix all problems, but that would require a proper tutorial which isn’t a high priority right now I guess.
GMs are supposed to help answer newbie questions huh?
If the question comes from a newbie, yes. If the question comes from a veteran player, they are most likely trolling and stirring on purpose. Please don’t do this - the GM team has enough to do already.
I turned my application in. I am a returning player and love the new Invasion mode. I co-founded Finniric Inc and find time to play everyday. I have stayed quiet in the forums until I saw this opportunity and I am a little late :01414: …
