Gauss tacklers can be very dangerous in the right hands
They are. I had my fun with them in the time. But if we are still talking about recons:
If I am on a recon, and I see you on a tackler, you are the first to go down. The moment I enter your sensor range, you are already droned. Life expectancy is very short after that.
you obviously play recon neocodex >.< I think they need nerfing, anywho I bought that first DLC pack when it was 50% off so lucky I got 3.5K credits I got an Empire Rank2 Interceptor Recon for like 2K and I can just farm the synergy of that for a while to get a rank3 one. good times
I’m finding my Fighter command not to good against the recon atm so I will leave it until maybe a recon nerrf or Ill just deal with rank them as fast as I can until I get the machete tackler
Don’t be underestimating, I fly all the classes in varried intervals, ship loadout switches several times daily depending on the team, tier, and enemy opposition. Only classes I am momentarily not actively flying are covops, since recons and ecms are overall more useful and ussually the only interceptor in my lineup, hence if I’m a captain - I don’t want to be a covops captain, so there’s one more reason to leave it out. And one always needs a backup engineer. And you always need some firepower, so I always bring my gunship. Forth is ussualy the extra class, either second interceptor, second fighter, second frigate, depends on the situation.
Recon is really good, and probably the most important class in most games, but can’t say it’s my favorite or OP, in most cases it’s just vital. Also don’t think they need any nerfing, they got enough.
You should definetely invest more time into flying federation line and start thinking about empire, instead of wasting it for Jericho commands and tacklers, they are the most underperforming ship tree in the game now (for a better command, empire is a bit more prefered, and you also get empire gunships on the way).

Word to the wise; Recons are only as dangerous as you allow them to be. I fly Recon primarily, and my ideal opponent is someone who thinks they can fight me solo in a Tackler. My worst enemy is someone who is smart enough to bring his friends.
This is true of most Inty builds; their power is in 1v1 combat. They are weak in groups.

The Recon’s penchant for causing misery isn’t really pronounced in T1 since the only role specific-module available at the tier is the Spy Drones Container, and since heals aren’t really that powerful at T1, you won’t get much mileage - at least the tacklers won’t easily escape from you, and everything else that has caught a case of the spy drones dies a little faster.
If you think the mischievous little scouting planes need a nerf, you should know that the Recon’s detection modules - the spy drones and the micro-locator - had much wider application ranges several patches ago. In the case of the latter module, it was indestructible and quite invisible. Recons back during those times could ruin someone’s day with impunity. Now, even they have to take some risks.
Now, Recon is also this important: they’re probably the best class in the game when it comes to sensor range. I’ve played a few matches without recons in my team or ship lineup, and I realized how important having a wide sensor range is - unless you’re some kind of space marksman, you’re going to have a fun time trying to hit that frigate who’s firing lasers at you beyond your reach. Sensor range is also vital in Detonation matches, since it makes all the difference between a stealth bomb plant and an effective defense.
Recons are fine as they are now, as well as most of the ships.
The COs and tacklers could just use some extra survivability in the fed (and some jeri) line or extra speed. End of this nonsensical story.
Now then, where’s the new shiney content?
Meh, Jerry cov ops can get a pretty decent amount of survivability. Wakizashi R has 2 shields and 1 hull, not much but it’s somewhat decent. And Falcon-M is fine imho (looking foward to get that ship), fed R15 implant + 2 hulls +1 shields, I think it’s somewhat ok.
I know I’m talking about T5 but since the prox Sector Conquest I can’t think on anything else but T5.
Those Fed Gunship and Tackler are shouting my name :00666:

Hehe, i’m only half a level away from the gunship, gonna beat you to it Resi!
And yea, i did mention ‘some’ in the jeri line, didn’t say all, but i guess it applies to fed too. Good point.

I will need my time, still lvl 2 on the Tiger gunship. It will take time but doesn’t matter, since all the tiers will be mixed, if I play t4 or 5 in sector conquest will not be such a HUGE difference, relying on my corp mates will make me able to level some r10 and 11 ships without suffering.
