This was BladeofShadow’s idea. I just thought it deserves a proper thread, more information, and a little tweaking.
Nanite Swarm - Drains the target’s current hull strength by 4% for 10 seconds. 1% is transferred to the recon. Can only be activated once the target’s shield is less than 15%. 300 meter activation range and you must be within 700 meters to absorb and drain hull. 90 second cooldown. Available at T3
Mk2 - Recon is now able to obtain 2%. Cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds. Draining and Absorbing range increased by 150 meters.
Mk3 - Available through one of the Empire subfactions. Recon obtains 3% of the drain. Cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds. DAR is increased by 150 meters.
Mk4 - Adds 2 more seconds to duration time. Cooldown is reduced by 3 seconds. DAR is increased by 75 meters.
Stats/numbers can be changed.
The 3% is of the total hull hp, not the existing hp.
Mk1 Transfer 60% of drained hp, 800 range, 90sec recharge
Mk2 75%, +250 range, -8sec recharge
Mk3 90%, +250 range, -8sec recharge
Mk4 100%, +200 range, -4sec recharge
Need to be within Range to receive hp transfer.
Does not affect cloak.
Continue doing dmg after recon go out of range.
Drain needs depreciate or it’s to overpowered. Too much range it now it lacks skill. That recharge is too high.
Good lower suggestions but 10 seconds is not much to prevent cloaking. Anyways a recon will almost always not allow to cloak so 10 seconds is again not much.
If the dmg depreciates, the drain amount need to be 5% per sec. This will give 40% drain from max hp.
Keep the 500m activation range, but the drain range need to be increased.
If recharge is too high, put it at the same recharge as shield remodulator.
40% sounds decent. Makes it strong and useful against frigates and hull tankers. Good in certain situations. Makes it more tactical.
I’ll cut down the activation range to 300 meters but it will be able to absorb and drain from a larger distance. Balances it out quite nicely I think.
I need to check out the recharge time for the parasitic remodulator. Though it needs to be longer than the PM. It is going to be affecting hull after all. I don’t want it to be spammed and this being spammed will certainly force players to have to get repair kits even though most players already carry repair kits by T3.
Range is way too low and rate of leech needs to be re-specified. I love it
I feel like 40% is a bit much for a hull drain module, if it ignores resists. I’d say something like 20 or 30% would be more reasonable, but honestly, I have no idea.
Why was this thread revived?

Only way to find out is if it is actually made by the devs.
Why was this thread revived?
Because of CptDF’s new ship suggestion. Also because we want to. Xp
