Currently recon drones aren’t very useful for what they were designed to do; counter Covert Ops and Tackler’s abilities to disappear from radar/view.
There is also the issue of Active Camoflage being exploited during detonation matches.
My suggestion should solve both issues.
At present, Recon Drones require a lock to be used on target. This is completely impractical as one cannot target interceptors while in Active Camoflage.
Suggestion:
Make Recon Drones a toggle ability with an area of effect. Any enemy ship that enters the area of effect, cloaked or not, is automatically tagged for 20 seconds and can be locked by missiles.
This way Recon interceptors can counter the active camoflage of Cover Ops interceptors and the camoflage of Tackler fighters.
