Recent balancing changes poll.

I dunno about you, I gave up on the plasma Arc and switched to a more “Takamina” inspired build. Fast, sustained DPS and a GTFO button.

The game is going in a good direction, but swaying to a direction of being too newb friendly, and NOT rewarding skill for those that are good at the game.

If I can get 1 maniac medal in a game and I only recieve 250K credits in a (T3) game, whats the point of doing well if I am not rewarded appropriately?

Yeah, exactly the style that should be gone from the game. Low risk high reward is not a good design.

Muh skillz

No really, the game actually overrewards getting kills. It’s a kill fetishist game. Getting objectives are not rewarded half as well, even though it wins the game, and it’s fine, because usually only a couple guys can participate in objectives in a measurable way (like getting beacons in a beacon hunt is usually not for guards or engies, even though they might be vital for the win).

I agree that the reward system is bad, but I think you get too much out of getting kills, both synergy and credits. Loyalty is great.

So your saying that the game should reward more “Objective based” play then “Kill based”? Then I can see your point. another thing I would like to point out is that it does not even say “Good job for not dying, heres a bonus of 25K credits.”

The game does not promote good team play or objective play, and I really think that it should be fixed to actually help those few that want to win the match as fast as possible.

I think somewhere beyond the mists of time, a dev stated that you have bonus for medals, so getting a “fear me” medal will give you a small bonus.

But that little tidbit should be advertized in some way. Make it so that players should have a diffcult choice. Have high SR or risking dying for a better reward to go after objectives.

and this game has a weird mechanic where I would make more money if I died alot of times with a low score then not dying once and having more then 2x the score of my team.

My best reward scores are when I have a fully ******* team in high tiers, and we lose the game by a wide margin, but I’m the only one with more than 100 eff points (like 200 or 300) and I get over 400.000 creds.

So I think the rewards are shared between the players depending on the share of the total eff score. So if you die a lot, but still have more score, or the difference with the first one is not that big, it doesn’t matter.

And anyway, DSR is just a fake stat.

Finally someone that understands my view on SR.

I told my corp mates that I was determined to lower my SR, while still being very good in matches (Not dying, going nuts, going for objectives) as that is the ultimate challenge then getting a bloated number!

The bonus is no repair costs. Also afk’ing in a corner means you’re not dying either.

You get a small amount of synergy.

But that little tidbit should be advertized in some way.

Can’t say I ever paid attention to it but switching your realtime reward display from efficiency to synergy should display it. It’s really not a big amount though, a single kill gets you more than 20 medals.

Doubt that. Reward mechanics are a bit weird but not to that point. But don’t forget there are license, boosters, implants and premium ships that boost your reward gain so that makes things difficult to compare.

So I think the rewards are shared between the players

They are. Both teams no matter whether they win or lose get the same base amount of credits, it’s then split between the players of each team.

Regarding synergy, there is a mission/battle completion bonus. Everyone receives the same base amount modified by their ship rank but the winning team has it multiplied.

And anyway, DSR is just a fake stat.

Not fake but not relevant either.

Impossible to do since you cannot lose SR if you’re not dying. The only way to do it is by suiciding into low SR players and since they added four bots per side to T1 matches that has become increasingly hard. It took me 6 T1 matches last week just to drop 200 points until I gave up, far too much work now. :stuck_out_tongue:

This apply more to LRF. Dancing around behind enemy lines in a covop doesn’t mean you will accomplish anything or that camo will save your xxxx.

LRF is a low risk low reward or a medium risk medium reward ship, depending on how you play it. If you stay back, you won’t even hit a Styx with it. If you go forward, you risk being focused.

Funny how the famous argument “Majority of players does not read the poll and just vote option 1 for free gold, skewing the results” did-not come up yet, especially considering that is the option backing up a view of those that like to put that argument every time when it is convenient.

lol i read the poll while im queing, if theyre gonna give me free gold standards then i might as well do what they ask

In this case the forum and game polls are close. Top choice is still more popular in-game, which is no surprise.

REALLY? Those lazy cheaters. Ah Look at that:

Well that isn’t the order they appear in on either the forum or in game for me, so I have no idea how or why you get that without modifying a screenshot.

But the format I get in both is “All good, most good, some good, no good.”

I just fixed it for you. Since you only seem to be happy when the things you haven’t voted for is at the top.

Yes, “fixing”, as in doctoring information to not reflect reality. Have you considered a career in politics or news media?

And in case you haven’t paid attention, the issue was never so much about the order as the fact there was consistently a gross disparity between what he forums say and what the in-game polls say, which is troublesome given that A) we have testimonials of people who just “vote for GS”, B) we can’t validate how many people actually vote in the in-game polls, and C) it’s most glaring on polls about big things that matter to the community. The idea of “I don’t care” being the default option every time was to provide a quick and easy way to remove any possible bias of people just voting for reward.

I have no problem with my choice being the least popular, so long as there is no discrepancy between in-game and in-forum voting patterns. Frankly, I don’t think in-game polls should be rewarded at all (or even exist) seeing as there is no form of screening at all; most people on the forums are at least at T3 and have some idea how the game actually works, whereas in game you can (and will) have T1 pilots voting on issues that they have no experience of because they get a reward for doing so.
