Rating system Suggestion.

Based on what a Game Master told me, Rating is only based on kills.

So basically the guy taking all the kills wich is most suited for ECM and Recons / Tacklers or faster ships. Its not really suited for Guards or Engineering classes for those who likes that.

so here is an example after the patch. wich i like how damage influence everything based on score. (but what does score really mean if the rating is not based on score) should make more Ratings in Stats for each player. (like on leaderboards)

At enemy n1. before patch

2 kills 6 assist = 680 points.

After patch = Unknown.

but here its a bit less than double.

assist as max i seen is 200 points (this is in Domination) regular match.

So yea i think the rating system is not really suited for Guards and slow ships. because the interceptors normaly attacks every ship with low health.

Alot of players with high rating are only Interceptors or tacklers, gunships. when everyone else does the work someone else steps in and takes the kill to get higher rating.

cant we make a system based on how much points we get out of kills including assists?

Very many high rating players does not like to die often so if they play with interceptors against guards/tacklers. they basically just hide in the end of the map to avoid death wich i dont think is very skilled.

If they loose They hide and Let us win match and or disconnect. if rating is supposed to show how good a player is, then its doing a bad jobb atm.

(dont flame the picture, its just an example)

110vo86.jpgand if they come in a 2v2-3v3 without their squad against guards they basically sit back and watch themself loose. (people often do one attempt to see how strong we are at first by attacking us, but if its no good they basically sit back 10 000 meters away from their own beacons.

And for all of those who likes interceptors the most or have high rating using just fast ships, no offence, but justice is justice.

What about beacon captures and bomb plants? Players who work towards objectives should be rewarded more than mindless killers.

Yes, but i really find that there is no game mode based on only fighting. i think we actually should create that. if that was created then yes Jacxis.

???

I’m sorry but you sound like you’re contradicting yourself there.

Isn’t Combat Recon based on fighting?

That is true… though Detonation stands out as a mode that is least dependent on kills.

I’m not that concerned about Recon. Any kind of killing can contribute towards the team’s victory.

No.  Just no.

The good players, or “the high rated” players, just DON’T die as often as less skilled players.  They don’t hide unless they know that they need to.  They constantly provide hit-and-run tactics that drain the enemy team and make sure that ships get finished off.  I assure you they don’t try to steal kills to boost their skill rating, at least, that is not the sole reason.

However, I will most definitely agree with you about leaving the game.  A mature gamer plays a battle from start to end with the best of their abilities.  Doing otherwise is inexcusable, imo.

Kills are important, dead enemy cant do mision objectives.

that change would be sooooooo bad… i like to pew pew pew and do objetives by the way.

Kill enemy while he is capping one of your beacons solo: 350 Pts.

You also know that T5 Guards are pretty much the most OP ships in small fights?

So, if you are complaining about killsteal etc… why dont you hop in a ceptor yourself?

Don’t forget that the mode which is about fighting and kiling only will be the ‘Team Deathmatch’ announced in the Developer Blog… So cheer up!

Why change the system that way btw? To make it possible for torpedo frigs to achieve higher rating without doing anything usefull for the team? Like thats going to happen.

About interceptors and stuff, that you said being kill stealers:

I know theres a lot of people with high DSR that only go for weakened enemies, and microwarp away right after they receive a scratch. But to think that the best players ingame do that is kinda wrong.

What seems to be the problem in your point of view leikis, is that you find it unfair that you can’t kill a player that knows what to do. It is OBVIOUS that even on T5 (im guessing here based on my knowledge about T3) to charge face to face with a guard alone, what you are asking is that a motorcicle beats a tank in bulk resistance and dammage. A motorcicle would be used to run fast from one place to another, while the tank moves slowly to take down other tanks. That means Roles. Interceptors are not designed to facetank guards, and beat them in both durability and dammage, they are designed, as the name of the class states: To Intercept. To intercept what? Those targets you dealt some dammage but failed to finish by some unknown reason. Or to intercept other fighters and interceptors that are going to steal your objectives.

Guards, as the name says: GUARD a location, ship, whatever, you use positioning to provide fire suport.

Basically asking for a interceptor to facetank a guard would be the same as asking a guard to heal the group.

yea but lol its not balanced if ECM and Fighters gets the most rating because they kills off a damaged ship when the guard has done all the work, and then the guard gets nothing for doing this. same with engi

no, not in a 12v12 match wich they are about to loose. then they hide and never attack otherwise everyone else would follow them.

in a 3v3 against guards, then what you do is putting a guard in ur slot so you are prepared for all sorts of matches. there is always guards / engi in games. but high rating ones does not use it much.

If someone runs away dammaged from a guard either the guard didnt do things properly, or the enemy had brains to take advantage of guards immobility to run away…

But hey! If the guy runs away it means the thing you were suposed to protect with your guard is safe, so you fullfiled your ROLE. If you dont chose a killer role, you wouldnt get killer points, you get other points. Wanna kill points, get kill ships.

For example. Lets take an Empire Gunship. With lots of resistance it goes up to 27k surv, and still maintaining almost 100 rotation. It will have aproximately 8k hull and 4,5k shields.  Sooooo, a guy fires a EM missile into its face, it loses all its shield l. Since empire gunships dont care about shields, we can count on 0 resist or negative resists on shield. So, the assists count for 4.5k points of like you “took away”. But, to take down the 8k hull, you will need to inflict 10 times more dammage because its hull is much more durable.

So now, lets see whats fair. Is it fair in cases like that, that a newbie, firing a guided EM missile at a gunship receives the same points than a guy who brawled with him and took 4.5k of its hull that is 10 times harder to take down? NO.

As it is unfair to atribute a higher pontuation to someone who just dammaged the target, because EVERYBODY with brains runs away if they see they are in danger, and when in danger, they take evasive maneuvers, turn on defensive cooldowns, run in the middle of their companions, so, that small portion of health that you seem to ignore is in fact the HARDEST portion of dammage to be dealt, therefore requires skill, good build, and good aim to claim that frag, so i think all this crying on this post is from a guy who only cares about dammage (as you stated on another post) so, if all you care about is dealing dammage why do you complain you dont get the kill points?

yea you fullfilled your role but you dont get higher rating.

why you think i say its not much suited for guards if only kills make the rating higher?

mhm thats what the hole post is about.

If you want to farm rating just play Recon, Gunship or LRF for “easy” kills. (Empire)

Or you could just not die and get kills and your rating will grow up by itself with time.

This is by far the best way to do it  :yes_yes:
