rank 6-10 spatial scanner should be purchaseable via credits

Since people on these forums seems to have issues with reading comprehension, let me spell this out more clearly.

 

 

Suppose you’re flying a rank 6 cov ops with RFB, and you want to boost your critical chance using passive modules to do more damage. The only way to do so currently is either the Enhanced Scanner (which gives a whopping 2%) or the rank 6-10 Spatial Scanner (which gives 7% but costs GS).

 

 

This means that a GS module is 250% better than the best module obtainable via in-game currency only. The solution is to make the lowest tier Spatial Scanner obtainable via credits.

Only way to boost T2 crit chance is very low increase from enhanced scanner and R2 implant. T2 dont need it much, ships are squishy without them.

You missed the point of this thread. What you said is true if one does not use GS, but the spatial scanner lets you boost crit chance by 7% on a rank 6 ship. This should not be restricted to a GS-only module.

There’s a reason for not having all modules available in T2.
If all modules would be available already in T2 there wouldn’t be much motivation to proceed to higher tiers.

Apart from that servers are not for free…
The developers wants to get paid as well.
So let them keep some sources of income.

My empire is mostly rank 3-4 with rank 6 gunship, because when I started playing I thought the ships were too slow and so I never flew them.

 

However the devs decided to make the Aura much better than every Jericho command in T5.

 

If you have a better suggestion on how to get the Aura, I’d be glad to hear it. I made another suggestion thread asking that the “Requires 20 more ships” thing be removed, so that I could at least just continue leveling the gunship into the command line without going back to T2, but no one seemed to support that idea.

Well, I have all standard ships so I know exactly your problem.
Recalling the experience of flying gunships in T2 I wouldn’t consider a higher crit chance to be vital to proceed to higher tiers.
The Deimos for example was a pretty decent ship without. There were other ships in that line I didn’t like at all (e.g. Phobos).
But for such ships I mostly used free synergy.

What about recons? They basically do no damage with no crits. Anyway that is not the point of this thread. 

 

And actually my real reason is that I’d like to do my OS quests on my T2/T3 empire ships so they can use the 7-15k synergy those provide, since I do those quests anyways and the flat synergy bonus is more valuable to lower tier ships. But in the meantime I’d still like to be able to use a spatial scanner in case beryllium mysteriously shows up, since I have yet to build a T4 destroyer.

 

So if they retroactivey allowed T5 spatial scanner on T2/T3 ships, then sure I’d be fine, but that would cause even worse balance issues.

Well Spatial Scanner should be removed from the game entirely, and all of the OS-exclusive items should be obtainable as PvP loot.
