PVE Exp System

The proposition of this thread is flawed, for the same reason he pointed it.

If you queue solo, or with 1 friend, and you get 2 nawbs, 1 with an ECM interceptor, and the other with some guard for example.

If you and your friend goes for the “optimal ships” in second phase of blackwood T3, you get your brilliant maulers, all purpled up doing a fuckton of dammage, before you melt the first station, your 2 palls die, and you are swarmed with AI’s and die aswell.

Then you would have wasted a lot of minutes, and have to requeue (which sometimes takes a little while) and repeat the same mistake…

While for example, when me and my brother are playing together, if i see the other 2 have no brain, i get my bubble gunship, he gets his engie, and i keep focusing on turrets and adds, after some while (little longer, but still better that restarting all over again) all 3 stations are down, and the 2 nawbs are alive. Why do that? They atract aggro, and it is MUCH easier to eliminate a fuckton of enemy stacked to hit a nawb then when they are orbiting you, specially with bubbles.

My point being, if you cant have lets say, a 4-man LRFs to melt stations in less than a minute, and you have to rely on nawbs to complete the mission, best is for you to compensate for their lack of skill, even if that is unfair…to carry stupid people around. But even if that tarded interceptor is making low dammage, it is better than no dammage at all.

Now, the main point, you said killing ships shouldnt count as helping on objectives, you are being blind, because if i for example dont keep the adds at bay, the whole team dies before the objectives are destroyed, so your argument is failed.

I agree that diferent stronger adds should be worth more points, for example, i can kill 5 fighter non elite fighters with 1 shot from a bubblegun, and get 100 points. While shooting 10 times on a elite fightert only gives me 20, or even worse, wasting a minute to kill those commanders elite to get only 20 points…

And if you start putting dammage on top priority to dictate efficiency you are going to have a bad time, because whats the best way to amass dammage? AOE, which class of ship has the most AOE? Torpedo boats, you will start seeing lot of people on torpedo frigs xxxx other people’s games.

By the time it takes a guard to die against mobs (and supposing he takes some of them) a single Tier 4 LRF (or better, a Mauler) can take down the three stations easily, if its properly tanked and with survival modules (why would you fit any other module in a PvE farmship?)

I have done it quite some times.

You basically gave the answer yourself there. They are not worth shooting at, so don’t. Focus on the objective. If you raise the reward for those things you get even more “nawbs”, as you put it, waste time to shoot them.

Your main point is flawed. If you focus down the objectives your team has no time to die. I always ignore adds.

Explain it to all playerbase that plays in a guard. Explain how a brainless dude would survive long enough so we could kill it quickly, while he atracts some attention for a few minutes so me and my brother could finish the objectives. As always, people come here, to counter my arguments asuming only geniuses play PVE. If PVP is full of tardeds, why would you guys thing PVE is diferent? Pratically all the tardeds you meet in PVP are PVE levelers, so, tardeds in PVP are tardeds in PVE. Sure, when i find myself in a great group, things go VERY smoothly. But again, as i said on my first post, that was based on a POOR team setup, not on perhaps, the perfect pre-made stomper squad.

I wasnt incentivating people to kill those hard adds, the main concern is the big boss, if it valued more, people would see that it is important that the boss dies quickly.

You must always find great groups to do pve with, perhaps you are the chosen one by the MM, and always get good pugs that know they need to focus on the objective, and know how to fit a guard, and know how to fit everything. Well, for me, i usually get people that cant breathe and play at the same time.

The fact is I don’t expect a random dude to survive that much, but my LRF is fitted to destroy by itself all three beacons in less than 2 minutes, and surviving in the process.

Of course, the rank 13 empire implant is great, because you can kill mobs and just use survival modules nonstop

We agree then. That’s what the OP suggested that I thought you were arguing against.

Quite the contrary, I don’t PVE often but when I do I expect my team mates to be total failures and choose my ship, loadout and implants accordingly. As Eviscerador said, get a T5 ship with empire R13 implant and you can easily reset the cooldowns on your active mods, be it survival mods or damage mods (you don’t even need a frigate, e.g. perma-orion + plasma arc goes a long way in taking down structures in PVE extremely fast).
