PVE Contracts

Since 0.9.0, I’ve noticed that many people are grinding PVE in an attempt to gain synergy on their ships to progress in the ship tree. Since this is occurring, those people or most likely not playing PVP as much as they used to. This results in those people not being able to advance in subfaction loyalty needed to use the mkIII modules they will need in order to be competitive with their new ships.

 

My suggestion to help alleviate this slightly is to introduce PVE contracts. These contracts will become available when a player reaches loyalty level 3, 6, 9 and 12 in a subfaction. These, in addition to the level one contract to win a match (in PVE, completing a mission) would amount to a total of 5 PVE contracts at loyalty level 12 (as opposed to 12 for PVP). As there are fewer contracts available for PVE than there are for PVP at any particular loyalty level, gaining loyalty through playing PVE should be slower than attempting to do the same through PVP.

 

My idea for a contract would be this:

 

Level 6

[insert Contract Title]

Destroy 200 enemy ships in PVE missions

 

  • Must use at least T2 ships or higher
  • Contract can be completed over multiple missions
  • Both kills and assists count

 

This particular contract could have an hour long cooldown and reward anywhere between 700 and 900 loyalty.

 

So what does Forum Conflict think?

This would be nice and help make PVE be possible to gain slightly more loyalty than 1 contract at a time, ofcourse it would still not be as viable as PVP loyalty.

PvE is soooo boring that it needs something like that. Making it worthy to spend your time.

 

And I want to suggest things like for example: 

Extra credits/exp/whatever if:

  • Complete the mission in less than 10 minutes

  • Don’t lose any hull points

  • I dont know

 

 

And the difficulty of the pirate mission is just non sense, it should be lowered, anyone have been successful in that mission? 

I agree, something needs to be done to spice up PvE. It really isn’t worth it to play PvE when you play higher tiers, because you could be earning more in PvP games as well as completing contracts in the same amount of time.

Haven’t succeeded at the pirate base mission, either. When I think me and my team are doing the right thing, we end up staying in one place and die.

 

Other things that you could make a PvE contract out of is the destruction of enemy structures. Not a lot of people put a lot of attention on those, but at later tiers, turrets actually hurt. It could also get players new to PvE to “CONCENTRATE ON THE NAV STATIONS” instead of continuously fending off defenders and invaders.

Piratebase is quite easy :slight_smile: Just got to know how to do it.
