Pub Hate

I have seen many players on this forum complaining about pub gamers. I understand that many do not play for the objectives. I myself am a pub player but I  actually do try to play the objectives and I resent being lumped in with those that do not.  Would you mind turning the hate on the pub players a little bit on the forum?

I consider myself a newbie, I’m still at Tier 2 and I haven’t still played all the classes in the game.

But it really annoys me to see people in domination games just derp around and don’t give a f*k about the beacons while you are desperately trying to cap then in your recon or support the cap in a gunship.

And people picking long range frigates as a captain in combat recon… it is like “well… here we go AGAIN”

It is not really a hate on so called “pub players” it is more of the fact that there are a lot of relatively new and inexperienced players rushing in t3+(premium ships or just single ship lvling rush) and they get wrecked in there, and wrecked hard. There are players with 100-200 PvP games total, flying in t5.

This ^

There’s a lot of new players that don’t take their time to learn the mechanics of the game, how to play each mode, how to fit and fly each ship. T1 and T2 are the “learning” tiers, while from T3 onward, you start playing the “real” game. I’m pretty new, and I choosed to wait to go full T3 until I had at least 500 PvP matches… Ain’t fun to be insulted 'cause you’re doing bad in the game, or ending last with almost no points in every match.

The funniest part is that a GOOD BUNCH of those tier rushing players yell comments at everyone else of what awful n00bs they are. No skill can be explained in T1 and 2, but in T3+? Come on… That’s a proper and legit time to have ‘F*CK OFF N00B’ adressed at.

My biggest disappointment is when new players “state” or “claim” balance issues :frowning:

Its pretty much all said by the other posters.

I had one yelling “Thats not fair I cant even get a kill here”.

Turned out that he fitted 1xT5, 2xT3 1xT2 while he got into a NOVA vs ESB battle. NOVA killed him on a regular basis with ease, while ESB focused single targets down so swiftly that he had no time to lock on.

Too bad, it was for him like a spectator mode for a very nice and brutal battle, but I guess he couldnt enjoy it.

I thought about saying him, that he got into a fight with old, experienced corp-players and he cant expect much… but i wasnt sure if he would understand… so wth.

Yeah, I can agree with what has been established.

Many are not simply not going for the objective or not doing anything “beneficial”

Its sad that many think that a premium ship is OP and will make them an OP pilot. Real sad when they fail so hard and blame others and THEY are on the bottom of the score board.

Guys please keep it friendly. Everyone has to learn the tactics so why not help the new players to get started?

Keyword: “LEARNING”. Something these rushers don’t even know wtf is. They just grab ONE ship, rush to R15, giving zero xxxx for themselves or the rest of the team. Everyone in this thread has the right to complain because they break the game for the team they’re playing on.

You want to fix this extreme imbalance (yes, because it’s unfair as all hell for both sides, tbh, not just the side they’re on)? Simply turn every game into Realistic. Except, maybe, Combat Recon. You want to endlessly throw your ship against the enemy in hopes of doing some damage? Custom matches are your friend.

I will discuss this with the devs and we will see what we can do from our side, but it’s not nice to keep on blaming the new players.

Everyone needs time to learn.

“Realistic mode” would help making them value more their ships and take more care while flying, but we’ll see even more LRFs every match and even less “play for the objective” 'cause everyone will be going for the kills in order to win the match… perhaps limiting in some way the maximum number of each role per team? I don’t know, just an insane idea I had…

It would be lovely to have a mechanics where you unlock tiers that you can queue into by total game played:

50 games? here is T2

300-400 games here is T3

800+ Here is t4/t5

Dream, dreams, dreams…

in any case it would be very informative that players with low total PvP games players receive a some huge big xxxx warning that you are queuing up in a tier with higher difficulty with established players.

Correct with learning. What i’m blaming is those people intentionally swearing back at the others or those trolling.

There is those that are thinking that they pay into their right to be good.

That too.

Words adressed to me once (or close to):

“OMG u nub you fly Kalah premium OP ship! DSR farmer!”

My thoughts: *if so OP then why the hell don’t you fly it?*

PS: he was flying Superkite.

Which is exactly what T1 & T2 are for. However, with the absolutely SHINY adition of T5 and its implants, you’ve made sure that every single Ace (not even newbie, at this point) rushed to T5 to get their hands on those R15 implants. You want to fix this horrible, TRULY dreadful situation? You have two options:

  1. Make all modes Realistic (again, with the possible exclusion of Combat Recon);

  2. Fix the implants so that the R15 ones go BACK to R1, as they were before.

Edit: oh… I see what you did there, auto-correct… I see…

Yea, and you can have some sort of ranks that the player has to achive to unlock the next ship… like a currency earned by battles, we could call it “reputation”.

No, wait, that was the old system

Synergy-Unlocks make newbies think this game is like WoT (it kinda is on the meta but way better), but Gameplay-wise its smth. very different. Thats an other point why they rush trough the tiers.

Blame is different from observation, though I understand this discussion walks a very fine line. The frustrations of the players above come from the perception that some individuals have no regard for the team they’re playing for, which is reflected by choices such as playing above their tier. They can’t be faulted for it, however, since the game enables them to purchase premiums beyond the ranks they have unlocked.

It’s a question of etiquette, and those are topics the community has to discuss.

There are a lot of experienced players that care more about killing than winning.  Sometimes a corp squad can be no different than a group of pub randoms when it comes to winning.

Just an observation.
