Why?
This only makes buying ships more expensive. Is this some kind of veiled money sink?
You’re not doing people a favor with this change.
-
A lot of the time the fit isn’t even what people want (collision compensator on a fighter? huh? do you guys even play this game?)
-
I can Mk3 any T1, T2, T3 ship. Why would I even WANT Mk1 junk? You’re only cluttering up my storage and costing me credits I did not want to spend.
Please add an option to buy a empty ships, as before. I don’t want prefitted ones, I’m perfectly capable of fitting a ship properly myself.
Thanks

This, this, and so much this.
Another solution could be that the Prefitted items are not the default Mk1 items but some kind of “Factory Mk1” and have an higher sell price.
So you can sell all items and you have your “old” empty price.
Jet another solution could be add an option button upon purchase:
* Buy empty
* Buy with MK1
* Buy with MK2
* Buy with Premium
but as the OP said, what if i want lasers instead of plasma or a collision module is not needed in my ship.
Seems to me that they needed to raise the prices of the ships, regardless.
Adding the equipment on the ships served as a bit of a compensation for this increased price. You don’t want that stuff? Just sell it. But the point is that the price for ships had to go up to the new level.

No Actually it didn’t.
Even as someone with both the explorer pack and a prem licence the price is way too high when lumped in with the heavy decrease in loot value. The grind time is now way higher than before, which in and of itself heavily affects the fun aspect of the game. If there was more available in order to make cash then fine. But fact is there isn’t. Scenarios are the best way currently. And t3 loot don;t be dropping there. Plus Dread sabotage is just a cluster****
I completly agree,
I dont want xxxx modules, this was a good idea, but only for tier 1, and perhaps for tier 2… but certainly not for anything above that. Perhaps make it only gor like rank 1-4 ships?

I’ve got T3 drops from running T3 scenarios. They just don’t drop from the purple dot, which is always T4. That’s a problem that should be fixed.
Ship prices, however, were too cheap. I can make between 1-2 million credits an hour running scenarios. So the money is extremely easy to come by.
Agree as well. I do purchase Mk1 stuff for T3 and T4 since I’m low on money and loyalty, and need a lots of ships to fly around. But now, not only the price for Mk1 increased, but new ship give you gears that you don’t need to waste your money…

I think we’re going to have to agree to disagree here.
Obviously you’ve had a great deal more luck than I have. As I’ve never got squat and I’ve run a huge number of scenarios (My 6 man Corp is Rank 38 for PVE Rating atm most of thats me) Plus even that precludes the loot nerf. If you get a good team and can stick with it and you only get shipyard then yes you can make a ton of cash, otherwise I’m sad to say. No.
Wow. This change. Lol.
I mean I know they’re trying to do everything they possibly can to increase the grind… but just come out and say it. BTW, the increased grind is really killing the desire of everyone I know who plays the game to actually play the game.
People aren’t going to run out and buy gold ships and gold modules to escape the grind, they’re just going to quit the game - which I’m honestly not too far away from myself.

That may explain a lot. I’m in one of the top PvE corps, so we are well versed in running both Shipyard and Sabotage at T3/4. Generally we can complete about 4-5 scenarios an hour, each paying 330k+ (not counting loot cash). Having a good team makes all the difference.

Wow, my team must be super-elite then, we clear shipyard in 6 and sabotage in 8 minutes…
Anyway, the increased ship prices are just silly. Now my friend has to pay 3 mil more to buy a T4 interceptor because it comes with stuff he doesn’t even intend to use, and selling the Mk1 junk doesn’t even cover a fraction of that additional cost.
It’s not a case of “We wanted to increase the ship prices but added some modules to ease the pain”, it’s clearly worded as “Ships now come fitted when you buy them, but the price went up because of that”.
The exact wording in the patch notes is:
“When buying a new ship, you also get a complete set of pre-selected modules corresponding to the class of the ship (ship cost has been increased accordingly).”
We can run a T2 mission with T3 ships in that short a time. But when running T4 missions in T3/4 ships, it does take us upwards of 15 minutes to complete. Perhaps you are super-elite if you are doing T4 missions in 6 minutes!
They changed things so you can not purchase a ship as cheaply as before, it means they want ships to be more expensive.
They could have raised the prices and still left them empty. But instead they raised the prices and threw Mk 1 gear on the ships.

Please do keep reading things the way you want to.
Not reading anything into it at all. I’m just looking at the facts.
-
Ships are more expensive. Therefore the devs want the ships to be more expensive.
-
Ships now include Mk 1 gear. Therefore the devs want this gear to be on the ships.
Induction is fairly reliable.

Please by all means keep lecturing us on how things are working as intended from on top of your pedestal then.
Basically you’re saying you’re organised, already established and earn oodles of cash from that position and have no idea why others see theres a problem. Try PUGing then come back to me.
Sorry if I sound cross but you’re talking rubbish. So I’ll stick with the agreeing to disagree.
Not sure how “play in an organized fashion with a skilled team” is rubbish. Every one of the people I do these scenarios with had never played the game before 3 weeks ago. We just decided, “hey, let’s rock PvE!” and started doing it a lot.
Took us about a day of trial/error each time we went up to a new level to get it down. But then it was fairly easy once we figured out how to play each mission.
No pedestals. Just a few guys with teamspeak and a willingness to blow up several times while learning.
A few things we learned:
-
Frigates are key. Firepower is more important than speed in scenarios (we usually run with 3 frig + fighter or 4 frig)
-
Enemies have a hard time targeting you if you are flush with a large object. Get down against the surface of a large ship and Elite Commanders won’t be able to shoot you. (this was a huge revalation!)
-
Pulsars will clear out more enemies than direct fire. Organize on a voice server and call out who uses pulsars when…3 pulsar blasts in a row will clear out most enemies.
-
Stay together.
-
Always be near some kind of cover if you aren’t flush with a large object.
That’s pretty much it - other than knowing the best spots to hide/camp when things get hot.
Hope some of this is helpful.
i like hiding above/beyond the engines of the dreadnought, there are some neat gaps to hide in
and yeah, the new prices are… highly questionable o,o especially when the modules are garbage
Before the patch I more or less have given up on the idea of getting a t4 ship.
and even upgrading to a better t3 ship seems like it’s gonna take a while.
and my t3 gear is kinda junk.
I was planning on getting a higher level t3 ship when i get the credits for it.
was thinking that I’ll have most of the gear for it already by stripping the weaker version.
which i still need to kit. So far I havn’t been playing it because I don’t have the creds to kit it.
now i’ll have to pay extra.
I think getting a better ship atm does not justify the time and effort. farming PVE? I don’t want to subject myself to something I dont’ find fun. I’m having enough fun playing my kitted fox-m.
I’ll get to T4 someday. But that’s no longer a gameplay goal for me.
sooo…
Warthunder economy changed with the last patch … stopped playing that one and decided to try Star Conflict
Star Conflict changed economy in the same way … won’t be a timesink for me then too.
I’ll check development though, cause I liked both games quite a bit.
Sad Panda… Have fun folks
