basically a map where the defending team Has a dreadnought that needs resupplied and they need to defend Unarmed transport ships while they make their way to the dreadnought
and the attacking team are the Pirates that need to attack the transports to stop them from resupplying the dreadnought
I was thinking the map could be in an asteroid belt Filled with ship debris with lots of moving debris meaning the map will change over the course of the battle making it harder to fight in without crashing
In my opinion, if a dreadnought were present, it would be in a shipyard. If that shipyard had been stripped by pirates, it would only make sense if there was random junk/debris floating in space, obstructing the LRF’s view. It could be possible that in games like this, only small tactical fighters are allowed to play (maybe engies, too) to make it more “covert.” Just my two cents.
Looks good on paper, but the problem is, as stated, that LRF would be just OP on this mode. They can just snipe the transports from afar.
It was already annoying to defend a clueless commander (fixed last patch, even if now I’m almost always the cap) so defending AI bots against human players would be even more annoying.
But if the debris is moving about a lot wouldn’t it make getting a clear shot too hard?
not to mention if you stay in the same place for a long time then you aren’t watching for pieces of debris coming your way making it more likely you will be hit by it?
The Dreadnought could have a shield bubble that absorbs all incoming fire (think an indestructible mobile barrier), forcing the attacker to fly inside of the shield to attack the Dreadnought.
