I originally thought that each destroyer would have its own unique “main calibre” type weapon that was strictly for that one model of destroyer. Is there any chance of this, or is this what we get? :3
I don’t think that there will be such a thing. Anyways I don’t like the Coil weapon model, it looks so weak. They should change it to the coil mortar model.
Destroyer is fat frigate, not cruiser. Do not expect them to carry miniaturised dread main calibers.
They are corvettes of a sort. They need big boom weapon.
Maybe the T5 Destroyers will have big main guns.
I wanna see a weapon with the Hunter/Predator sound effect and visual effect. Perhaps the EM weapon would be like this. xD
I want the dests to have the Hunter afterburner sound effect. That’s the single best sound effect in the game.
Is the pyro emitter not enough of a main caliber for you? It’s a huge laser of near-instant death for anyone not in a destroyer that telegraphs two seconds ahead of time, after all.
I posted elsewhere that having each team with vastly different faction-specific specials would be neat.
I mentioned something of this sort:
Invincible : Spine-mounted thermal artillery weapon, low velocity, easily seen, large blast radius, aimed with ship itself.
Procyon : Wing of 4 EM-type attack drones, act similar to the engineer combat drones but with slower bullets, less agility and tougher hull.
Archon : Point-defense kinetic flak battery burst, for a short time, fires on targets within 1500, damage increases at close range (RIP orbiting cov-ops and hull humping bubblers :005j: )
I think those would be cool.
Also I originally thought that the fed dreadnought drones would be essentially like speedier destroyers. They should totally change that.
If you have a proper Subwoofer then you hear destroyer it is a very low frequency sound
