Advice, next time you find a kill squad from any corp (there are more of them, but for some reason the ESB are the more known ones) twice in a row, just play one PvE, when you are back, you will join other games. Also, you can follow them in your friend list, see when they are queueing, and wait till they are in battle, start your queue.
Or… you can join a nice corp, and make your own kill squad.
I frequently take breaks between matches for no other reason than the mix up the queue. It doesn’t matter who I fought in the last match, I’m just trying to get new people on both sides.

They wait up to 20 minutes if there is no one to match with. If there are people in matchmaking pool that are in the same queue, why would you wait for 20 minutes? And if they would’ve waited for 20 minutes that is the bug.
I think most of you are missing my point. I am not arguing that 4x man squad of r8s should or should not be in T3, it is a simple by product of low population in higher tiers. IF you believe that 4 man squad of r8s should never face T3s than go ahead suggestion section. If your problem is Premium ships being 1 rank lower than implant rank, i am not defending that either, —>> suggestion thread . In fact, the first time I found-out by myself looong time ago that Prems are 1 rank lower for MM I have reported it as a bug to devs right away, and response was “not a bug”. Should it be changed? Antibus used it because it was used so much during couple patches it became a noun. Any above average squad is a “Kill” squad, because they kill. Kill squad is no different from a squad, they fly together and they kill xxxx, just some of them are better at it due to personal skill and experience flying together. So is every ESB squad is a kill squad? what is a definition of a kill squad?
The term “kill squad” makes no sense and pretty much relevant to a personal skill of a player that have faced them. For example Kraimax with his brother stomping xxxx out of no0bs in their maxed out t1s/t2 for awhile might look like a kill suqad to those clueless players, but are they a kill squad? Same with ESB, for some, those are 10x better players for other just more experienced or better coordinated squad than their own.
I have seen NASA squads go for a win instead of farm. I have seem WPK squads go for a win instead of a kill. I have seen both corps go for a kill instead of a win.

MM has a mood to put you up in higher queues and sometimes lower queues for no apparent reason. I flew solo in a high/mid T2 queue with with R7 and R8 and sometimes I fly mid/high T3 queue with the same ships. No i don’t have everything purple or dramatic SR change (going maybe 50 up and then below my average).
But what matters is how many wins/loses in a row and how many other players (lower/higher rank) are looking for a match. So if your are too good you get punished by being put in higher queues continuing almost until you lose a match. If there are some weaker or stronger players looking for a longer time to get a match you get thrown together.
I see this happening not only when only 700 players are online but also when 2300 are online.
I had a match yesterday when there were 2000+ online, 3vs3 in T2 with one bot on each side and my team mate disconnected.
Some say It will all change when we have more players (after final release and some advertisement) but I have my doubts.

its not afixed number, every queue is ± 2 ranks. so r10s to r14s?

But that’s how it USED to be, that’s my problem. See, R8 squads can fair evenly against T4 pugs because, since their ships are better, they will be tougher targets to beat. The same 4-man squads in T3 (considering they’re not bumped up, AT ALL), curbstomp EVERYTHING they face because the ships they’re beating down have similar (if not weaker) stats to theirs.
The previous MM mechanics were fine, squads got bumped up and faced higher Tier pugs but, because the squads were organised, everything was fine and, dare I say, “balanced”. Now, things are not balanced, at all. Why? Because there is no T4 PvP. It’s dead, there’s nothing there. You get, maybe, a handful of pilots queueing for SecCon, unlike in the old days, where you’d see all 15 queue bars way up high.
Waiting times in T3 have been highly reduced for 4-man-squads. In fact I had a lot of matches with a wait time <1 min.
There were changes made to the MM which the community isnt aware of (must have been done with the last patch).
Getting matched vs another equal sized squad is not viable. You can wait for ever. In fact the 9.12 patch killed most squadding completely, since nobody wanted to bear waiting all that time in the que, just to hope to find an other squad.
I strongly belive that squads should stay in their respective tier. Socializing is still the main incentive to play MMOs, if you take this chance away, the game becomes quite quickly boring.
In fact the whole series of 9.x patches made Squadding more and more painful every time, it felt like punishment. I belive that the current playerbase noticed that punishment and is not willing to squad up anymore. How many 4-man-squads do you see at the moment which are not ESB? So of course I will spend as much time queuing in 4-M-S as possible, since it will be gone pretty soon thanks to the whiners which dont want/can socialize.
If it was for me, the Devs should even propagate to fly in squads. Saying it is YOUR FAULT if you dont squad up, deal with it then!
And no. Squads are not always better. If they lack coordination they can be even worse than a bunch of PUGS.
