Peace out, Star Conflict

If it was for me, the Devs should even propagate to fly in squads. Saying it is YOUR FAULT if you dont squad up, deal with it then!

And no. Squads are not always better. If they lack coordination they can be even worse than a bunch of PUGS.

amen.

Waiting times in T3 have been highly reduced for 4-man-squads. In fact I had a lot of matches with a wait time <1 min.

There were changes made to the MM which the community isnt aware of (must have been done with the last patch).

Getting matched vs another equal sized squad is not viable. You can wait for ever. In fact the 9.12 patch killed most squadding completely, since nobody wanted to bear waiting all that time in the que, just to hope to find an other squad.

I strongly belive that squads should stay in their respective tier. Socializing is still the main incentive to play MMOs, if you take this chance away, the game becomes quite quickly boring.

In fact the whole series of 9.x patches made Squadding more and more painful every time, it felt like punishment. I belive that the current playerbase noticed that punishment and is not willing to squad up anymore. How many 4-man-squads do you see at the moment which are not ESB? So of course I will spend as much time queuing in 4-M-S as possible, since it will be gone pretty soon thanks to the whiners which dont want/can socialize.

The fact of the matter is that MM does NOT look for equal number squads, let alone balanced matches. You will, more often than not, without a shadow of a doubt, see a 4-man squad on one side of the match and, MAYBE, 2-3-man squads on the other side.

The problem isn’t “death squads” in matches, it’s how the MM handles them. The MM doesn’t give a toss what ships you have (ship roles, that is) and rightfully so. But it should NOT, also, give a damn if your ship is Free or Premium. As it stands, MM treats Premium ships 1 Rank lower, so R9 Premiums are, and have always been, considered as R8s. This is wrong. End of discussion.

You see A LOT of 4-man squads in almost every Tier. During December, I’ve been in T1/2/3, even in T4 and I’ve met 4-man squads in ALL OF THEM. On a regular basis, as well. 4-man quads exist. Are they effective? Well, depends on the individual pilot skill. I’ve seen it all, from actual death squad balls to squads who continuously suicide over and over and over just to attempt to capture a single Beacon in matches.

The point to 4-man squads is to both socialize and win games. But it still feels like a 1-sided battle, no matter the opposition (save for when ESB meets their match).

Overall, the MM still needs A LOT of work but, more importantly than that, the servers need work to accommodate MORE than 2300 pilots without gagging themselves and lagging everywhere. Until both those things happen, pilots will keep on quitting the game before they join it.

MM forces matches throwing all rules calc away just to give players a match, that of course is a problem because it mostly ends up a one sided match.

Yesterday I played in a 4 man squad R5 and R6 ships. We started queuing in Queue 29 which is the top end of T2 where you already have R7 and R8 (or supposed to). We won one match after another, MM queuing use higher and higher until Queue 34 which is mid/higher T3 when met more than we can handle with our T2 ships.

In the other team were 4-man squads, not all matches or it didn’t seem obvious (like corp tag).

Yes MM needs a lot of work. Is it because of not enough players? That is questionable as there is not pattern related to the amount of players online/queued. Would it work better with having a lot more players? That is the question which in part can be answered if MM was ever matching better (with an older version) with the same amount of players online/queued.

Peace out, Star Conflict.

It was fun while it lasted.

I wonder how long it will take the dev team to totally get rid of the NA servers considering the almost nonexistent game population from this region.   No new NA players and we keep losing more and more older players every day.

The only corp who squads up on a regular basis these days is guess who…ESB!!   Even NASA is mainly a solo/duo queue corp now.   Because of this the game is quickly losing it’s appeal for many people.  What’s the point of a MM system that strives to keep everybody at 1.0 win/loss?

Just admit it, this game has long past been dead for NA players…it’s officially moving into the “European game that ignored the NA playerbase and then fell flat on it’s face” category.

There are new players, like me and a friend. So keep the US server running.

You can shutdown the RU server they have a high ping and sometimes even packet loss.

The game is not dead yet. But if they continue to screw around with the MM and not finish the game, it will be. Just fix the game and add new stuff after the release.

90% of the players in this game atm are from Europe or Russia.    100% of their advertisement budget is to this region…and yes they are advertising don’t be silly…that many new players from one region don’t just magically find a game at the same time.   Look at the growing German and Russian playerbase…it’s not just word of mouth people.

Right now with the state the game is in there’s 2 type of players:  ESB, and those who get farmed by ESB.

Which advertisement?

There is none.

I’ve yet to see single official advertisement, and I, practically, live in internet

Who knows maybe they don’t, just seems odd they wouldn’t even use something as simple as Google ads targeted to certain IP providers (i.e. regional) to get their name out there.   There’s more than one way to advertise, and not all of them require money or at least very little.   Surely they aren’t relying on steam for all their advertisement are they?

They could easily propose to famous youtubers, give them all the DLCs so they can play the game and make gameplay videos showing what the game is all about. I’m thinking of PewDiePie (almost 20 million suscribers) or Toby Turner (6 million suscribers only in his TobyGames account)… Hell, even elrubiusOMG (spanish youtuber) has over 5 million suscribers, when he played War Thunder, thousands of people downloaded the game and played it, when he played AION the same. It’s a really cheap (FREE) way to promote the game, since giving the DLCs doesn’t cost anything to the devs and they’ll be getting, idk, MILLIONS of views, plenty of new players and a lot of them will stay in the game. Hell, even some of them will end up purchasing DLCs and promoting the game with their friends.

Being “Open-Beta” doesn’t means that you can’t do advertise, because nowadays everything is “beta”, nothing is “final” because there’s always patches and updates, and AFAIK something “final” is FINAL, it was tested and doesn’t need to change anything.

Please no. MM almost always puts me on the Russian servers somehow. US servers are laggy for me, EU much worse. SA is next to non-existent.

Devs mentioned on multiple occasions that there will be advertisement campaign, there will be way more servers supporting the online population, but they have to finish all major overhauls and settle the game to get into an era without major changes, because frankly, we all know how little kids handle major changes in the game - they cant.

You only get farmed by them if you let them. We met ESB… what was it… once, yesterday… And we gave them a run for their money, actually winning the match in the end. I can’t remember if we met them in any other instances, though.

We had about half a dozen people uploading videos on jewtube every now & then (I was one of them). Considering there are changes almost daily, I was forced to, quite literally, make the gameplay videos obsolete once every single new patch hit. I’m just withholding any SC vids on there until the game hits release. Even then, it’s gonna be… well, depends on the results.

To be fair, I only joined after TB made his video, as well… along with a few thousands more.

We are still forgetting about the biggest problem in SCon right now: times with 1000 players online, when you just cannot get a game in T3 with a 3 man/4man squad. Happens every evening. Waiting for more than 10 minutes is usually the time when I close the game.

I found the game by finding reviews.  I haven’t seen any advertisement, but I do use an ad blocker.  I probably won’t.  The biggest concern is where new players are queued to.  The game’s getting more lag, and that’ll create a bad first impression.  US servers are no longer safe for me.  I get occasional crashes now and nothing in the logs about errors.  I think I’m seeing more squads for PvE than PvP.

When the game gets its advertisement, we’ll just all farm the players with T3 DLC premiums and less than a dozen games.

I found the game by specifically looking on a games review website for a space action game.

Last night I queued with rank3 ships (just for fun) and was put in rank 2-5 match (queue 22).

I got a 3vs3 with 1 bot on each team. 1100 players were online.

Typical, also because you got your stats raised by hanging out with NASA!

Because folks claim that ESB wait roughly 10-20mins before they get such matches. In truth, no T3 4-man squad waits more than 8 minutes to get INTO a T3 match… Whether there is another 4-man squad on the other side or not, remains to be seen, tbh…

Not only another 4 man squad, 2 2man squads are enough to be putted against ESB deathsquads.

my best match today:

red team:

2 squads of 4 players each ESB and Spin, all rank 9 or 8, mostly the usual premiumships with slightly advances over the non-premium ships

my team:

8 single players, ships 5-8, nearly all non-premium

Now guess who won…

Sry that sucks, matchmaker still produce very unbalanced matches after 18month beta…

Why this stu*id matchmaker is not able to set the squads in opposite teams and fill the teams up with the single players??
