Owl my owly owling owl! That’s a lot of owls for one battle!
Hmm The right side team was more like this

Good choice on the Mobo and CPU. Is it watercooled?
Also, did you go with a reference 980ti or a factory OCed one?
I’m looking to build a new computer around Black Friday and I could use some feedback on the 4790k and the 980ti playing current AAA titles.

If you do multitasking then I suggest 32GB memory for future proof, just look at what BO3 did to me, it’s over 9000! It triggered low memory alert a couple times and it forced my game to quit.
Jesus Christ that 9gb usage. Yeah okay I’m gonna get 32gb of Corsair Dominator, LOL.

There’s 16GB version of DDR4 out there if you didn’t know, you only need 2 sticks and high end motherboard can support up to 128GB ram with 8 sticks.
Duly noted! OWL try to upgrade to that and not break my $2500 budget.

Is it even possible to break a $2500 budget? Christ, man!

Allow me to show you my unfinished and slightly outdated ~$10,000 Console-Killer. If I ever had ridiculously large amounts of disposable income, I would build this in a heartbeat.
Pardon the air cooling and terrible memory though - I need to update it to a custom waterloop and 128GB of RAM. And have like 4 way SLI Zotac 980ti AMP Extremes with EK Waterblocks. And the monitors need to be the new WQHD ASUS monitors. 3 of em.
EDIT: Just updated it with some stuff. It’s $29,000 now. LOL

>$1000 processor
I had no idea that was a thing
>2 TB SSD + 4 TB HDD
Maybe get an external HDD too, so you can download more pr0n.
>2x GTX Titan
muh SLI
>1600 W PSU
I’m fairly certain you need like 1200 W at most :V
>2x 144 Hz monitor
Okay, anything past 60 Hz is nearly impossible to see
>$1500 on headphones
Someone’s an audiophile
>$1500 more on speakers
Uhhhh
If you become a millionaire one day, I can see wanting to build this just for the e-peen, but besides that…

It’s water cooled with a closed loop system (H100i GTX) for now. CPU only. I plan to do a full custom loop later on. For that reason it’s a reference PNY GPU. I haven’t had much money for games yet, but the new Metal Gear came free with my GPU. Want me to start it up and let you know my FPS on max settings?

It’s a crappy console port of crappy annual shovelware though. Those are inevitably terribly optimized.
My brief, lazy build log over on overclock.net if anyone wants pics. http://www.overclock.net/t/1572362/build-log-good-things-come-in-small-packages#post_24455502 PC is still very much a work in progress and should be much more impressive later on. I plan to update it once I get my custom cables made. Next month I need to replace my dying headset and that’ll cost $150 to $200 depending on which one I get out of the two I narrowed my choice down to. Hopefully life will allow me to do my cables in January.

“Time for tickles!”
Ohhh how I love that owl.
I want one

they shouldn’t have renamed it
The xKostystador
(damn such things happen if you read nasa thread and owl thread in a row…)
Respectfully requesting recruitment.
4chan has a /wg/ board? Jesus.
yes!
and it’s like this:
