Other games to play

LMFAO. “It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a giant flying d***o!”

In an architectural point of view: that’s one tough sunuvabish when it comes to extension resistances  :what:

Its the latter ofc!

Torodial Fuel Tanks in all its (failing) glory. They are one of the worst to pick… but just look so gorgeous.

Wait. PvP in SWToR is limited to Free players? Well, that can’t be a good model…

When i stopped playing, f2p players could only do 5 pvp matches per week. As i mentioned however, the main story line of each class is well worth it. Just consider it as a single player game, rather than an mmorpg.

WT is just you, your plane and your guns. The MM will still screw you in the xxxx, though.

Most of the time you still play against same tier ships, very rarely meet ships which cannot be shot down by your ships. Only later on when you start getting put against jets is this more noticeable, and still then, they can be shot down.

LoL/Dota… no. Just no. Maybe because I don’t like the game concept, idk… But I gathered no enthusiasm from those games.

Mobas arn’t for everyone i guess, i enjoyed it for a good 2 years, but eventually the community was just too much to put up with… Feeders raging cause their team sucks, when in fact the loss is their fault. Junglers who insist on jungling when they have no clue… typical.

AoEO is just a mess. You either cough up the money or you fight Persians ALL. DAY. LONG. If a game is any kind of P2W, it’s that one.

AOE is a game i rarely pvp in, i usually do coop vs ai, in which case its like any other AoE, but free.

I don’t particularly like TW games, I do prefer the original Civ.

I feel they’re quite similar when it comes to campaign map, but TW games also include the playable battles which can be quite epic.

BL2 is just awesome in a group. And so is Torchlight 2.

Never could get used to the graphics in Torchlight 2, couldn’t really see anything when combats got a bit hectic.

Any SimCity game (except the new one) is an excellent game to waste hours on. Having a poop map isn’t that much of an attraction.

Magicka DOES need a description. Come on… Killing your friends with xxxx mines? Beautiful.

I just assumed everyone knew of it already :stuck_out_tongue:

Dead Island… Godamnit. It’s like L4D. Without the guns mowing down the walkers.

Mafia II… I’d rather have GTA, tbh. If it’s just a different setting, it’d be something temporary to play, not something I’d spend an overly amount of hours on.

Even if you wanted to spent a tonne of hours in it, you really wouldn’t be able to, you can complete the game in like 10-15 hours of gameplay iirc. The story however is well worth it.

AC or Mirror’s Edge or any other Parkour game with half a decent game engine.

KSP = endless hours of fun. You will be frustrated. You will punch your monitor. But. Eventually. You will die on some faraway planet because you failed to land appropriately.

I spend most of my gaming time playing Dragon Age, Mass Effect or Diablo III on PS3 or FreeWorlds on PC.  FreeWorlds is a total conversion mod (Star Wars themed) of the game Freelancer, for those that don’t know.

I played that mod some time ago, how it’s going now? The modding team is still active? I mean, I want to play Freelancer again, but I beaten tons of time the vainilla game. And also, do you know of other good “total conversion mods”?

I started playing EVE again. Bought myself a new alt and am enjoying it once more

It’s going ok.  We need more people playing in my opinion. I’m a long time player there (been playing that mod for almost 7 years now) The modding team for that particular mod is down to one person.  We’re still waiting on 2.0 to come out (I’ll believe that when I see it, tbh).

As far as vanilla goes, I tried playing it once when we were out of internet and found myself getting bored of it and frustrated because everything moves so slow.

Can’t say that I know of any other TC mods since FW is the only one I have played.  Even though it’s a small community, I really like the guys I game with there.

Message me if you want to check it out again…  they changed the forums address.

Is star trek online any good?

Last I played it, it was crap.

The game idea was good, and gameplay wasn’t too bad, but it was so utterly confusing what you actually had to do in space(Not to mention starbase layout confusion  ) and P2W looking(Not sure if it was) it wasn’t even funny.

How many times reactivated again Funky? xD

I’m not missing it but enjoy it as it lasts

I crashed the Enterprise yesterday into an Asteroid in SE, but I saw in the forums, that some people actually are importing the Eve ships.

I always wanted to crash a Leviathan into an Asteroid.

Unfortunately, all I could do now is sit in my Merlin

Looking through screenshots of SE from people on the steampage, I might have actually underestimated and misthought SE.

It looks like it is a bit like minecraft, but with actual good graphics and in freaking space!

And importing EVE ships…like…Just grabbing files from EVE, then the game builds the model for them?

Or just remaking EVE ships?

I’m guessing the former. Either way, it looks a lot better than Starmade, so I’m definitely gonna try that.

People have been doing both forms from what I saw. Though directly important(and remaking as well to a degree) is against their copyright, so i hope for them they asked CCP of it was alright :stuck_out_tongue:

CCP doesn’t care. At all. The SE devs aren’t selling teh ships, as far as I can see, it’s on the Steam Workshop, for free. So, at most, I imagine SOMEONE (an individual, could be dev or regular player) made the models, then shared them. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. At most, it can be considered fanart.

It is still their IP and copying it(Especially if you use EVE online’s models and import them directly) you need permissions, or you might get in trouble with CCP.

They might not care at all, but if you want to be save, you can just send them a mail and it will get approved.(As long as you don’t sell them, or ask for donations for them in any way)

Even mods for sins of a solar empire etc. need to ask for confirmation from CCP if you use EVE online files(Imports etc.).

Copyrights are a dangerous place for the one breaking them, so why not take 5 minutes and less to send a mail so nothing can happen to you?

Ah, well, importing directly… hmm… trust me. If they asked for permission and it’s not for selling purposes… CCP does not give a single xxxx. They’ll even applaud you for doing it.

Just warning. SE has unfortunately no Multiplayer yet.

I also don’t like the fact it’s written partly in C#, but well, we’ll see.

The Importer is a community thing. They already have quite a big support from Modders. It does only import by building a mesh from small vertex blocks, so it is not directly using or distributing the files and data made by CCP, it’s more like taking a photograph of it. The only one CCP can actually touch is therefore the guy using the models to build a ship with the importer.

The Merlin is handbuilt I guess.

I don’t think CCP cares much about that, it is clearly not using their models, only imitates their shape, and SE is in no way dangerous to Eve Online, so why bother, they love their Propaganda anyway.

Dude, it LOOKS better than Starmade, it also looks to handle a lot better, too. I’m trying it out as soon as I get home.

Compare. Situation: You’re using something from a game, it can even be as simple as a name of an important character or even a model. For non-profit purposes. And you say it’s from there.

If it were Blizzard, they would be on top of your xxxx 24/7 because you’re using something that’s from their game. I’ve been in that situation, these guys are xxxx relentless. Even if you say it’s theirs, they will force you to take it down. Fan art is about the only thing they’ll ever accept as not being a copyright breach. Which is funny, considering ALL the crap they’ve blatantly stolen over the years.

CCP, on the other hand, have community challenges to design the ships for them. CCP will relish at the thought that you’re using something from their games and will only badger you to put the origin on the thing you used. They don’t give a toss if you use it for non-profitable purposes, as long as you say it’s theirs.
