I’d love to not be completely useless while chasing down my target with a torpedo. I only ever use them to either get enemies out from cover or to take out a fleeing enemy so it would be nice to have the option to control them with a laser like the Flux Phaser. This would also keep any of those silly gui bugs from happening and make using them a lot quicker and simpler. Option could be in Settings>Game and make it function like this:
Press F to launch missile but instead of locking your ship in place and making you see what the missile sees, you are still able to move and are simply shown a green laser to direct your Torpedo with. Press F again to detonate, or it will detonate on its own. The distance remaining is shown as a descending number on the module or under the crosshairs.
Torp moves so clunky, that is more precise to guide it the way it is now. Also you can hit targets hidden behind walls, that you wont do using laser guidance (actually you could, I practice “lobbing” flux phzr behind rocks but its difficult as hell).

You know what the best part about an option is? It’s optional. I would use it because I don’t frequently do anything besides chase down weak targets with a tachyon charge. You don’t have to use it if you don’t want to.
now all jeri LRF will use torp when shooting with main weapons without need of tachyon charge…weapon overcharge mk5 ftw!!
Sounds fine to me. LRF class specials are really pointless when you compare it to the extra +50% dps on mains. Really the only point for Jerry torp is area denial and finishing off targets. The sniper though is just like you’d expect. I still like it how it is, but it would be nice to have a slower, hip-fire kind of mode just to add a little bit more dps to your target.

oh you havent seen me in JLRF, i like it specially because i can add extra dps with torps. Torps have many uses, not just as area denial (270m is very little to me…so i wouldnt really call that a special feature) or final blow. You can hit multiple ships (hard to achieve…usually when you manage to do it is over an engi and someone healing xD), deal dmg to targets behind cover, take cover and deal dmg (this is particularly awesome against ELRF, they cant fire back…you just shoot torp after torp till its dead or runs away), keep LRFs out of fire range, tell your team where a cloacked LRF is, self destruct (xD), etc. I only wish that you could dedicate a lot more often as torpedo long range in T5 (like snipers can)…weapon overcharge its pretty meh and cloud dmg is ridiculously bad (doesnt compare to desintegrator DPS at all).
Rather than have the torp be laser guided, I would vastly prefer not having to stare at an admittedly cinematic picture of the cloud left behind for what feels like an eternity. Tone down the length of time spent out of camera to something like half a second, and now we’re talking.

actually they could completely remove the after explotion camera, its not usefull, not very realistic and not very artistic. I always hit any strafe key after explotion to skip the camera…unless im cloacked (nothing to do there).

of course, strafe removes camera as soon as you press it (you can even hold any strafe key before the explotion…no camera), why do you think i use so much tachyon torp at guys shooting me? xD
