Opinion: What's your view on NASA?

srsly guys - this must stop …

on a plus note, PVE now looks awfully inviting

Agreed. Hotshot is clearly riding on the coattails. He must be stopped.

Oh I feel for you Kine… I’ve not got any experience flying alongside Waffownz, but Dug and I have had a good run together and Ziek is scary. Mustache… he’s like xxxx Dastardly if he could get xxxx done. It’s kind of scary being around him. :stuck_out_tongue:

I trust these three with my life. With them around, I can be a little brave knowing they’ll save me from 10 hull. 047.gif

And then you have me, flying right through a minefield with my kite, plasma arcing everyone, blowing everything up, and disregarding the objective to assist teammates.

Some people wonder how I fly, well imagine a drunk pilot high off sweet rolls while forgetting to put on his seat belt whilst dogfighting another interceptor in underpants. Do I make myself clear?

Yesterday was an okay day, only 4 games won out of the 8 played. I blame our pugs. one match we have 6 people with zero score while only NASA members had score.

I ask this question, even to NASA, do people actually know what they are doing at T3 or are they just pretending its still T2? YOU CANNOT SOLO ANYTHING! GOD <CENSORED> DAMMIT!

I would LOVE to play alongside such a pilot. You must be a complete headache to anyone near you.

Wait, what? There are objectives?

On the score front, part of the problem there is how inherently unfair it is.

[T3]

When I fly a Command or Engineer I get a lot more points than when I fly my Recon. If I’m in my Covert Ops or Gunship I can really struggle to break the “0 score” barrier in some matches. I’ll find a target, light up, and then they’ll withdraw and I’ll be unable to pursue for fear of being horribly massacred by the Frigball hiding behind the asteroid.

[T1 / T2]

The other issue? Objectives. Particularly flying solo, where people have no grasp of this mystical thing called “planning ahead”, I have had far too many situations where I will advance to a beacon, pinging and asking for support for a good thirty seconds before hand, only to be left utterly alone at an objective with three or more hostiles bearing down on me. I can’t take the beacon and die alone, and if my killers die in return it’s too late for the assists to count.

[all tier]

The problem is the game does not reward trying. It does not reward you for attempting to capture a beacon, or for being 0.5 seconds away from planting a bomb before eight nukes go off around you. There is a fundamental flaw in any system that rewards people for being afk in a buff ship, yet utterly ignores people who slog their guts out trying to do things that might actually win the match.

@ Above poster - true story and couldn’t agree more.

I actually do worse when im NOT in my covert ops…

Half the match one time im in my guard, I look at my score and then frown. I switch to my Covert Ops and then double my score.

Didn’t I solo your side’s captain in last week’s corp training’s second game?

okay exception to that rule : NASA members can solo stuff in T3…

When it comes to playing interceptors in T3, the main role you fulfil is that of wingman/woman to a frigate. You’re the distraction as well as the eyes and ears of the team. If it takes too long for my team to respond to my ping, I drop the target and take up a new one. It’s frustrating to see low health enemies escape, but surviving is more important than getting one kill (unless that kill is the captain, because then by all means go for it xD).

If you’re near the action, throwing shots at whoever crosses your view, eventually someone will die and you’ll either get the kill or the assist. I remember flying to a beacon once and sending one round into an enemy frigate en route. Five thousand metres later I get an assist.

It is harder to rack up points on ships that don’t have AoE buffs. But this is also what makes it so satisfying at the end of the game when you see that even without auras, you were an integral part of the team. The point system right now attempts to promote team play while simultaneously not punish those who need their guns in order to place well on the killboards.

I do dislike the fact that AFKers with auras can get assists, but hey I’d rather they be AFK with buffs than AFK without. I disagree with awarding points for attempts at objectives, however, as this could be exploited to generate higher scores without actually affecting the match in a meaningful way. On a side note, they do award 150 points for picking up the bomb.

Thank you, I have enough problems dying to DYN people.

Specifically dying to hitting their deformed hulls at high speed as I pass by after they die to my fire. I swear you cheat and always make them drift just enough for me to hit them. And when I’m pulling those strain every sinew medals because retardgineers on my team didn’t bring nanodrone cloud, those collisions tend to be fatal.

No cheats (that I know of) in DYN…

 GOD <CENSORED> DAMMIT!

Yes?

Yes?

Hi. why is your named a euphonious for cursing is beyond me…

Lol no idea brother… I just thought it would appropriate to respond.

you sly dog you.

Also question to all posters in this forum.

Give me ONE good reason why I shouldn’t kill kommyexpress from DYN? Hes the most annoying, good skilled, pilot you guys have!
