My suggestion is simple: Make a zoom option where the point of view gets between the target and the player’s ship.
This would allow us to see targets and having a better view without being blocked by turrets and modules. This problem occurs with destroyers mostly, especially with the Sirius.
I have zoom assigned to mouse wheel and if I could just roll/zoom one more step further that placed the ship behind the view point, that would be great.
1+ Also, make the zoom center on the mouse pointer, not according to ship position (so your aim does not jump after zooming/zooming out), that would allow us to keep constant fire without missing just because of zoom in/out.

Yes. This too. This may also solve the annoying crosshair jumping when switching between control modes with CTRL. I always lose target and shoot by for a moment until I drag the aim back on target.
