Non-missile secondary weapons

Yeah there’s the ones destroyers can use, but they don’t count. I’m talking for every other class. There should really be some actual weapons that you slot in the secondary weapons slot. Here’s some ideas:

 

Name: Fusion Beam

Damage: 5,200/s Thermal

Energy Drain: 450pts/s

Maximum range: 3,750m

Barrel rotation speed: 25deg/s

Tooltip: Hold down the secondary weapon trigger to fire a continuous beam that slowly tracks the cursor. Uses large amounts of energy.

 

 

Name: Iso-Jet

Damage: 10,000/s EM

Energy Drain: 450pts/s

Effect range: 100m

Jet rotation speed: 35deg/s

Tooltip: Hold down the secondary weapon trigger to activate a high-intensity jet that will push in the opposite direction the cursor is aiming for an additional 320m/s. The jet will deal massive damage to any ship caught in it.

 

 

Name: Vortex Adhesor

Pull strength: 275m/s

Energy Drain: 300pts/s

Effect range: 3,500m

Tooltip: Hold down the secondary weapon trigger to begin generating a gravitational vortex around your ship. Any ships caught in it will be pulled towards you.

 

 

Name: Active Regenerator

Shield and hull repairs: 1,200pts/s

Energy Drain: 450pts/s

Effect range: 600m

Tooltip: Hold down the secondary weapon trigger to regenerate allied ships’ shields and hulls for a massive energy drain.

 

 

Name: Tactical System Scramble

Energy drain: 375pts/s

Effect range: 500m

Tooltip: Hold down the secondary weapon trigger to disable all enemy ships within the range. Effected ships cannot move or use modules, but can still fire.

 

 

 

Ideas? Comments? Additions? Yes? No? Maybe? Aliens? Cool.

Fusion beam: copy-pasta from Fractured Space Overseer. I don’t think we need another moving variant of pyro, since we have energy converter.

Iso-jet: R14 destros already have push ray, why we should put it on every ship?

Vortex Adhesor: Stationary gravi-lens are annoying enough, Reaper harpoon is very powerfull on single target and you want to pull ALL the ships. It’s no go.

 Active regenerator: AoE Brokk’s laser. Come on, you can be more creative. Also makes mass shield and nanodrone cloud quite useless.

Tactical System Scramble: wont stop Thar’ga while disabling a whole team. Totally wracks up balance, see what pair of ECMs can do with only single target stuns.

It pushes your ship not enemies’ ships.

Pffff cmon the only reason gravy lense is so bad is because it deals annoying pointless damage. And besides this is for a much shorter duration due to energy use.

Well yeah. But a direct way for ships to heal would be fab because engineers without brokk laser or eclipses are basically useless at healing unless you have 20 minutes for them to spam modules over and over.

Once again, it’s energy based. And on an ECM you -might- get 1.5 seconds out of this per burst.
