The new Achilles and Hyena ships seem to be stronger than the rest, especially equipped with a singulatity cannon. Though i cant lay the finger on it why. Its more a feeling. What d u think?
They are supposed to be stronger than Phobos // Silent Fox, but i don’t think they are stronger than Desert Eagle/ Nukem I or Parallax.
At damage they might get some points but then they are less durable and they are slower so in general they are balanced.
I don’t think they’re overpowered. Although I am seeing a lot more cruise tacklers in T3 now the Hyena exists…
The new ships are easy to combat. Etiher A: have a tackler use target painter or B: Have a guard use mass propulsion inhibitor. Worked for me.

Hint : +15 to all resists on shield and hull at the cost of speed.
They are not, they are at the same level than other rank 9 ships. They are tanky though… but slow, so they are somewhat balanced.
They just like any R9 ship.
Just with perfect module line up for trolly builds.
I tried the Hyena for a bit normally i suck bad in dogfighting ships, but it seems to work halfway withe the Hyena. If u fit it with a cruise the speed lack is irrelevant. For big maps i think its a great ship and everybody should give it a try. Just put singularity on and some slows and u cant really make very much wrong.
Achilles is also pretty good in team battle, since again speed is not so important there.

Nah, Parallax with 2 Adaptive shields is way more tanky than Hyena with 1 and that xxxx resistance bonus. Parallax is also faster.
Achilles in the other hand has an interesting module layout.
Hyena makes for a great Gauss build.
Parallax is better for Cruise Engines.
Achilles seams to put out a decent amount while still taking a bit. I was able to level it quickly. Since it is slow it seams like a bad LR.
With the hyena I am actually having trouble leveling it. I keep wanting to dogfight it keeps saying no.
Bottom line Bear is way better.
Screw the Parallax and ‘style’ fighting. Sure three intys will kill my Bear, but I’m taking two with me. Also Bear with assault rails isn’t useless vs guards because of the crit bonuses. Crit the heck out of everything with the Bear.
Ahh. u are comparing it to Gold ships…thats no good, then they loose for sure. Hyena should be compared to katana AE. There i am not sure with one is better.

So comparing to premiums is bad but comparing to different faction -1 rank counterpart makes total sense
The new ships are not even close to OP
They are meh Imo, I don’t like that speed drawback. Maybe the frigate players or the ion empire gunship players will not mind that kind of playstyle but interceptor and overall fast ship players will find really boring.
The ships aren’t really OP - they move quite slowly for more tank. I like the Achilles - especially with adaptives - but if I needed a beefier ship I’d use my deagle and my wolf-m for a faster bubbleship.

I can’t imagine trying to use bubbles with the ship though. Your whole match would be “please come back, I want to destroy you.”.

I’m using bubbles in the achilles. It is fun, but you need to play your positioning very well.
Gauss or ions are probably better.
i like hyena more for the bubble lineout; the parallax is way better for cruise engines.
the hyena can also be used for a range build, but it is still the katana-ae’s biggest strength.
in my opinion quite balanced.
achilles is interesting and quite comparable to the other gunships in empire.
bubble fit is indeed fun, but quit risky on it; very similar to the nukem anyway.
They’re not as good as the premiums imo.
