I was wondering why we don’t have a fun pvp mode like this:
Version #1:
Game type: PvP
Game mode: All vs. All, AvA
Map: Any PvP map
Ranks: 7-15
Restriction: Groups are not allowed
Battle time: Normal
There are no teams but every player fights against everybody. There are several spawn points on the map. More than one player never spawns at the same place at the same time.
The goal is to be the most effective. Leaderboard lists all the participants in the same list giving synergy and other rewards the usual way.
Two possible modes:
#1/a: Players respawn until the timer reaches zero.
#1/b: Players can use their ships only once and have to wait until timer runs out in case of losing all ships.

The goal is to stay in game as long as possible and kill as many enemies as possible. Players can use their ships only once. Rewards are fixed and delivered according to the number of kills. If all the ships are lost the player can leave the battle and get the reward for the kills.
In case no one spawns within 1-2 minutes the game is terminated.
Some fine-tuning might be necessary but for now this is enough for giving a basic idea how this mode could work.

Wing vs Wing is pointless as a game mode, proven by old sector conquest, in a year of it existence there were hardly 20 games of wing vs wing in total.
Unless timer is strictly enforced and rare you are not going to see any games. Precisely why Tournaments and current Sec Con see wings - forced times.

I didn’t even know that gamemode worked ever. We tried to queue, even with 2 wings, we never got a game. Also the old SQ was limited to T4-T5 and with that playerbase, it is not a big surprise nobody played that gamemode.
Anyway, I just wanted to say, instead of creating one extra queue to split the playerbase, and introduce another gamemode where no teamplay required, focus on something more teambased mode.
I’m not a big fan of FFA. Most of the ships roles would be totally useless there 4example.
lol, that’s what we have Jericho Destroyers with 700 shield regen on their own for.
Well, if the person is actually thinking properly when they built it. I’ve seen many a destroyer fall to coil spam in pvp. Procyon is most common to see fall to coil spam, but Archon and Invincible still suffer under sustained fire.
Since everything is at OS, why dont make some maps to have checkpoint buildings that allows you to respawn there after you activate them? That would make some maps perfect for free for all/squads/wings/corps/bots wars to last untill players get bored. Price for respawning should be similar than PVP in credits. I would love seing a bunch of T5 vs plenty of lower tier ships xD
