Before reading my post; I am sorry for any misunderstandings or grammar issues. English is not my native language.
The current matchmaking in player versus player has become a real gamble nowadays since release of version 1.0 with the return of many active players, with tons of new players and with the current matchmaking system.
Point 1) Overall Team Rating Summary
First example: I got a matchmaking today with 9 players in each team + 3 bots for each team.
In my team was fortunately lots of high rated players with an overall rating of 1500 or above.
The enemy team was mixed up by 900 to 1100 rating. Those PvP matches do no fun to no one except to exteme farmers but “Seriously?” Thats not the intent of PvP in my opinion.
Point 2) Mentoring and recruit
Due to the high amount of new players since version 1.0 now many “Aces” or “newbies” or “Whatever-you-wanna-call-them” guys come to PVP with their mentor (see Mentoring System). Often in T2-PvP the mentor is T2 but the recruit is only T1. So i would suggest you can only have ONE Tier equipped in all Slots if you want to join PvP and you can only use the one Tier that this PvP should be played on.
Point 3) Aliens
I like the idea of Aliens spawning random in Space and attacking all ships - be it friend of foe.
But in the PvP - the competitive part of StarConflict - the Aliens should be removed due to a very simple thing. They are breaking any balance of strength between the team. Some things i saw recently now: Aliens appeared out of nowhere and shot doen captain within seconds due to three very strong ships. Beacon was surrounded by the complete team but the whole Team 1 was completely annihilated by 3x Alien Pulsar Abliity. So please guys: Either leave the Aliens to OpenWorld or make a PvE Map against those aliens instead. But not in competitive gameplay.
My Suggestion
A New Matchmaking System based on the players combined rating in each team.
So for example if there are 10 Players with an overall rating of 1000 for each player the team got a battle strenght of 10000. So I would suggest that only teams with +/-5% of the opponents battle force are allowed to fight this team. So in this case 5% of 10000 are 500 so any enemy team with a rating from 9500 to 10500 would be allowed to join the match. This or similiar systems are used in the majority of other multiplayer-competive games.
