New OPTION control for ignoring EVERYONE LOOK ATs.....

So the day Im doing that Crimson Haze PvM and in the third battle Im locked on and killing the Cyber Assault Transport because after all THAT is the mission Objective… And because Im up at the warp gate killing and not back at the turrets theres some dude pinging the !@#$ out of the EVERYONE LOOK AT on the Turrets.  I mean not once or twice but over an over and over nonstop because he actually needs turrets to stay alive and believes one must build the turrets in order to complete the mission and he gets all pissy about it because everyone is killing Transports and no one cares about wasting time at the turrets.   His repeated ding ding dings on the turret was so annoying that I had to reach up and pull my earbuds out and kill in silence.

So I would really like to see an OPTION setting on ether on AUDIO or GAME or KEYBINDS that mutes and ignores the EVERYONE LOOK AT thing that many abuse.

I say abuse because the above user pounding it about the turrets he wants built instead of killing transports is not the first time Ive seen it abused.   Ive seen others get into dogfights all by themselves because they fly off and prefer dogfights over Mission Objectives and then when things get out of hand for them to deal with, start dinging their attackers because they want everyone to ignore Objectives and come bail them out of the jam they made for themselves.  We talking Tier 4 users here so it not like one can blame it on being a newbee.  Its abuse.

I have even see it abused by users that purpose die early on so they can “Monitor” a Mission and act as Commanders and direct everyone how they feel what must be done, or to back up and save their Corp Buddys or friends still left on Mission, and ignoring the PvM Objective completely.   These are PvM not PvP.  Pilots know what to do and there doesnt need to be a Commander pinging LOOK ATs as to what to do.

A KeyBound key would be the perfect feature.   That way I could toggle it on or off with ease.   I know the Objectives of all the PvM missions and someone abusing the ding and wanting something other then the objective just isnt ever gonna happen from me.   Ever.   ever, Ever, EVER.

In the 3rd Battle at Crimson Haze… I dont ever need turrets to shoot others to stay alive.   I have Drones and drop as needed.   What a waste of time building turrets.  Click drop drone as needed, kill transport warping out of the gate and its dead before ever reaching those turrets.

So, please consider a feature to toggle off the abusers of that game feature.  let them ping all they want and let us toggle them off and they will never know were ignoring them not just in action, but in audio too.

Summary:

Add the option to ignore any pings from other players, including my own.

These incidents are rare and I think it is a bad idea to allow players to turn this feature off. Maybe at least have some sort of timer so it can’t be spammed so often.

Well, 2 things:

  1. Players are prevented to keep using “EVERYONE LOOK AT” for a while when reach a certain amount of times in a short period.

  1. Turrets are a must for that PVE map at T4-5 unless you have a pretty competent team (impossible to get at randoms) with LRFs or gunships. I would love to see your damage % on those cargo ships because im pretty sure those drones (if they are sentry and heavy drone) cant deal more than 50% dmg if they shoot them all the way. Turrets deal a big punch (1 shots many ships) and have range to fire any cargo ship in the map, just sit there, kill a few ships, you are done, its not like you are going to do much more if you go after something else. Building turrets means you have cargo ships easily dealt with and your team only has to worry about small ships. If you dont build those turrets, you will have to either choose killing small ships or cargo ships: first option means you loose, second option means you will most likely get swarmed and loose teammates 1 by 1…loosing.
Turrets are a must imo and are definately not a nuisance, just a short tramit you must do at the beggining of the round.

I support the guy pinging the turrets xD as a matter of fact, i think i would even use voice if available (ingame VoIP aint good enough). If it was T4-5, then players mustve known they had to build turrets…they arent rookies right?

BTW, i would love seing a video getting that round succesfully completed without building a single turret on 3rd stage.

I do this mission very often because at least the first two stages are quite easy if you know how to. But most random groups fail on the 3rd stage mainly because of two things:

a) turrets not build

b) enemy turrets not killed

I also don’t see why it should be a problem to build the turrets, it’s not that you cannot shoot while building. During building the first two turrets all enemy turrets should be destroyed and while building the remaining ones you can already attack the cargo ships. I’m guessing that OP knows only one solution to the 3rd stage and decided single handedly without chat communication to go straight to the warp gates, no wonder he got a ping storm. If you want to use special tactics you can either do it on your own (like capturing the beacons in 2nd phase) or you XXXing communicate. And no, do this mission 3-4 times in T4/5 a day and you’d be surprised of how many players appearantly don’t have a clue how to deal with the 3rd stage or even in which order to kill the ships. Even more suprising is the fact that many Corp players truly suck at this mission, there’s a particular Corp that seems to be totally ignorant to how this mission works, whenever one of their members is in the group I know we will fail because 10 seconds after any given stage the guy’s dead.

Lol you only remember him because he has a corp tag

Well in T3 you really can ignore the mobs and turrets and just go after the transports, T5 is a different matter, though I believe it can still be done that way if you have the right team/ships.

it can still be done that way if you have the right team/ships.

that’s a big IF

it can be done without turrets.  I’ve never sat around and built turrets.

Yes its a Sentry Drone and a Heavy Drone.

You place them half way between the turrets and the gates.

They take out the dogfighters leaving you to focus on the transports which you go after as soon as they warp in.

You’re AT the gate and wait for them and straf to the side along their side as you fire into them.

When the guns heat up you launch missiles at the transports as they cool down.

The Transports rarely even reach the turrets unless you have to be distracted and take a few shots else where.

You travel as you strafe sideways with the transports and you end up right about where you first dropped the drones.

You replenish them so they are strong again and fly back to the gate and right about then the next transport arrives and repeat.

The point of this is not how to achieve without the use of turrets, the point was to ignore abusive pinging of targets by others that pound on it because you’re not doing what they want such as building turrets so they can make the last kill shot after the turrets do the bulk of the damage so they get the point-credit.  Some cant survive and need to rack up points using the turrets, hence the abuse of pinging it for their kill-points.  You end up wasting time building turrets for them as you take hits and they do their dogfights for points.  Dogfights are not the Objective.  Killing the Transports are.  And Ive been matched up with users that their sole purpose on PvM missions is racking points in dogfights and totally ignore objectives even if they are the last one standing.

In answer to what Im using for the transports…

Tier IV

Jericho LANCE (tackler, so I can camo past the dogfighters and let the drones deal with them on back to the gate)

Gravi-Beamer (1618 dmg),

Focusing Lens Mk4 (+12%),

EM Missiles (3266 dmg),

Sentry Drone (1905 dmg),

Heavy Guard Drone (4760 dmg).

There is an option to turn this off already.

Its called team coordination messages. Un check the box and your good to go.

But on another note there are some people I would prefer to to ever see even in game.

It be nice if ignore made it so I would never have to see those players period.

Below is link to image that shows the option page for the check box.

If you want to get more efficency, build turrets (the dmg on ship kills and cargo ship kills/assists grants you points). All i do at 3rd round is getting firsts turrets ready while shooting nearby ships (1,2km range is enough) and then focusing solely on small ships since turrets deal tons of dmg to cargo ships. This makes me get highest score and highest amount of kills/asissts without focusing last shots on cargo ships (i still get a lot of score if make assist, since i deal significant dmg to cargo ships: more than 40% dmg on cargo ships shots by my turrets built) :D…killing small ships is the way to objectives because that allows consistent fire from turrets to cargo ships: the biggest dmg output.

I asked about your percentage of damage over cargo ships, not the dmg of your weapons and drones (you can check this in combat log: any ship or structure destroyed shows dmg % dealt by any entity). Drones deal little dps to cargo ships (they will shoot the cargo ship if you lock it if they have it on range) and gravi beamer aint the strongest weapon at all (curved works better for higher dps, even if you use focusing lense and go for full crit build (something like 40% chance and 103% dmg)).

Any way, all this missions have multiple way of completing them, but this one is the easiest and fastest.

About angry impulsive eyes on target pingers, i dont justify them for spamming, but you should also consider why they are doing it…personally ive played this missions many times and figure out when things start to get fucked up, wich is the moment to let your team know how to go trough it (and therefore some will use ping spam). No one likes to loose over and over and its also sayed in many different topics about newbies not learning how to play (in wich the ping thing would be some sort of way to teach…or at least show you are screwing up big time). All of these situations and more are factors that add up to make players rage and spam ping or xxxx-talk to the team (ive done this many times due to frustration). If you encounter many times this annoying situation, it is maybe a sign that you should attend and find out why it happens (im i loosing too often?, me or my team gets wrecked often?, do i get low score?, etc); perhaps there are some things you should improve in order to make a better gaming experience for everyone. Just be aware of things and be open to modify the way you play. I believe players should constantly improve and not stop in a state of belief where theres nothing they can improve.

I thought there was a limit for pinging, ping 10 times in a minute and you can’t for the rest of the game, or something like that.

Also, I do not take you serious because of your refusal to build turrets in that mission. I’d love to see you fail over and over again if you get a team that builds none at all with your cute lance.

You can ping 10 times per minute or so, yes. If you ping ten times very quickly, you won’t be able to ping again for a long time, albeit not the entire game.

Not only is the ping noise unobstrusive and easy to ignore, but the person doing the pinging had the right idea – the turrets do approximately 5k dps each, which is probably more than some tackler with two sentry drones could do with all the damage bonuses in the game at the same time.
