I’d like to see a map, where the asteroids are moving.
You know like that scene from Star Wars where the tie fighters are chasing the Millenium Falcon.
The movement should be unpredictable and not always the same on map restart. One asteroid hitting another should give an explosion and spawn smaller asteroids.
On a sidenote, this game needs way more maps anyway.
Movement is relative. Who said that our asteroids are not moving? You are moving with them on the same orbit.
Real asteroid belt is static too if you are watching it from inside. Collisions happens rarely.
Then be imaginative and play in an asteroid field that hasn’t existed for millions of years.
Like the remnants of a moon explosion or a large stellar collision.
The enemy forces launched an attack on one of our planets. Logically they struck at our main defense, the missile-base on the moon.
Without risking any forces, they diverted the path of a 500km asteroid from the Kuiper belt and sent him on collision course. You are part of the emergency force stationed on planet X, which started to stop the invaders.
Definitely, +1. There is a sort of damaging star or some sort of plasma-like core on some of the maps, so a black hole would be simply genius… once you approach the event horizon, forget it, you are toast!
I do like the idea of rapidly moving asteroids, as well, ala Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back.
