This new game mode would be the similar to Team Battle but much more active and fast paced.

 

The difference is how the game is scored.

 

The start of the game both teams start with 0 Salvage points. And the first team that gets 25 up to 45 “Salvage points” first wins.  The 25 up to 45 end game points fluctuate based off the number of players in game.

 

Once a ship is destroyed the “Salvage Points” on that team does not go down or up.  This ship that is destroyed leaves behind salvage.  That salvage needs to be picked up by the opposing team.  To pick up that salvage simply fly your ship through the wreckage/salvage.  Once the opposing team’s salvage is picked up the other team gets a +1 for their own Salvage points.  The team with the most salvage points once the timer expires is the winner.  If one team hits the fluctuating 25 to 45 “Salvage points” first wins.

 

It might be worth mentioning that Destroyers which are limited to 3 per team might be worth 2 Salvage points once destroyed.

 

This new game mode would be available for all  teirs and would bring around new tactics and extremely fast game play.   Frig balls and dessy balls are great for defence however, they also need at least one collector for salvage.

 

If you like this idea please give a thumbs up and make a comment as this new game mode should be pretty simple to implement as 80% of the game mode has already been built in Team Battle and would be a great addition to Star Conflict.

EDIT: If you pick up salvage you cannot cloak for 6 seconds.  Also if cloaked it breaks cloak.  (All cloaks: recon, tackler and cov ops -poor man cloak)

Nah taking a gamemode and tripling damage is much more creative than this! (Sarcasm)

Imho, the less we have of Team Battle Mexican stand off game modes the better.  Star Conflict balance revolving around game modes that have multiple objectives or at-least dynamically changing on the map.

My least favorite game modes are Team Battle and combat recon, because there is simply nothing else to do than kill enemy players, it limits the game by a lot.

This mode will be awesome! Although instantaneous pickup would be bad because I can foresee a few chickentackler cloaking and picking it up, along with the camo’ed covops.  I recommend putting in some sort of timer to pick up the salvage , much like how it takes time to pick up a Detonation Bomb.

Once again, this would be like Kill Confirmed in BLR.

Well the reason why Adam’s suggestion would work is because Salvage requires pickup from basically behind the front lines. Which means you’d have to effectively push to get to your objective.

I am uncinvinced. I cant see whats so great bout it.

Which means that playing close range is exponentialy less rewarding. not only those die more frequently, they deliver a pick up to the enemy along with it.

On top of that the team that is stronger naturally pushes the line on most of the map, meaning that game play would next to no different from team battle at the end.

I was hoping u can salvage from kills but the text was kinda ok, that salvage can do as well lol not like anyone will do objectives or anything ![:D](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/006j.png “:D”)

“Exponentially less rewarding”, its the main way to get points.  Your saying you can’t sneak in on frig ball and quickly get out.  

Also you don t like team battle well if you remember correctly the in game poll put team battle on top of peoples favorites.

It sounds like Kill Confirmed from cod, and that game mode was kinda terrible.

I’m not against new game modes (that aren’t Survival or Detonation) but I would definitely like to see something more objective focused that isn’t just capture [one / three / some] beacons. Payloads are all the rage these days…

That’s one of the things about Kill Confirmed: You have to be very careful about running in and getting the dogtag/salvage. Running in after some salvage with a Brave yelling “WITNESS ME” will obviously result in a free frag, as is consistent with other game modes.

I love it. It should replace survival mode definitely.

I like it because it would require all sorts of roles and sets of “skills” to be used. E.g.recon to defend against chicken tacklers and cloaked ship. And long range killings wouldn’t have much use unless wrecks are being picked up.

It would be interesting to see how battle dynamics would change when a ship gets destroyed and the teams would need to fight for it.

I would add a few thing to it though:

  • The pick-up mechanism should work the same way as object collecting in open space mode or as the bomb picking in detonation mode. It could give teams a little time to defend their wrecks. Also, it wouldn’t be possible to cut the pick-up process short like in beacon capturing.
  • There should be a time limit for picking up a wreckage and after that it should disappear. This could force teams to push and fight for wrecks. Also, it would prevent having wrecks all over the place.
  • With the current rank ranges of the different pvp levels it would be disastrous. 
  • Moving (pushing) wrecks should be allowed so that teams could take the risk and push them to a defensible location if necessary. (optional)
  • Wreck would need very distinctive markings.

It’s interesting. Wouldn’t you want in your LRF/dessy/frigate all those killed killed-you-flies be useful except for the +/-1? :smiley:

Great idea changing it now !!

I like the idea of salvage points more in terms of “worth of ships”.

each ship is worth its rank + 1, otherwise normal team battle. Maybe even +1 for ceptor, +2 for fighter, +3 frig, and +5 destro.

But that’s another matter, I always whished there was a more ticketed system, maybe I am too much of a battlefield fan.

The pickup thing I dunno, it kinda feels like most games will be campfests behind spawn, after you get ahead. Any try to attack the turtle of the other team basicly results in risking salvage points for no return. It clearly favors the turtle.

The other half of games will be trying to prevent that, going straight for the enemy spawn.

It sounds like a fun mode, but I fear, the aesthetics of the game will soon end in “first mistake loses”.

Also, if the salvage system includes the worst Open Space feature, the proximity pickup procedure, I am out.

I do not dislike team battle, because it is one game mode, where Team spirit can really awaken, you see front lines, and I have the feeling it’s often really close, and I think, SC is quite cool in face off modes aswell. Combat recon is another question, but only because it really comes too often in the rotation, even if that might be a subjective feeling. Or maybe I just dislike the rotation system for this game mode, as I have nothing against 1 combat recon every now and then, but as the modes come sort of in waves, the third combat recon in a row really gets tiresome, especially if you had one ship wonders as captains with tacklers and lrfs…
