New Destroyer Module "Scatter Mortar"

I suggest a new active module for destroyers: Scatter Mortar

 

It essentially is an explosive shotgun with low projectile speed and relatively short cooldown for close range anti destroyer combat and to scare charging ships away with a big wall of exploding awesomeness (high spread, low bullet speed, limited turret rotation and explosive damage would prevent it from being op af vs small ships).

 

Damage: 10.000 kinetic

Projectile speed: 3000m/s

Range: 2.300m

Spread: 3 deg (maybe higher)

Cooldown: 7s

Pellet count: 10

Explosive radius per pellet: 100m

 

(Edit: I think the spread could even exeed 10 deg, due to the ‘overlap’ of the aoe of multiple pellets. In this case, the damage could be higher than 10k due to the distribution of it.)

 

Upgraded with Raid loyality vouchers.

 

 

 

Just let that sink in: friggin big a** explosive shotgun! This could also make short range destroyers more common than these annoying 9k range laser vigis and retar’du spam boats! ![:)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/001j.png “:)”)

Do you know why some weapons owners saw off from their shotgun barrel? to make the shells spread in near field.

 

How about this modification :

hold button 3s -> long range shot (low spread, concentrated impackt, explosion dmg from 5000m and on)

hold button 2s - midrange shot (medium spread,explosion dmg from 2500m and on)

click button -> near field shot (very high spread, explosion dmg as early as 250m and on)

= versatile weapon module > low aim near field, high aim long shot
