New buying ship system

Hello everybody,

As you see now when you buy a new ship, you buy a full-equiped MK1 ships, it can be good for newest players but for old ?

I have already a lot of modules better than mk1 and now i pay more for a ship with module that i don’t use …

I suggest to let the choice to the players ? i mean if he want to buy full equiped or not.

What do you thnik about it ?

Ps: sorry for my bad english.

The ship coming equipped isn’t a problem. you can always unequip and sell off the mods/weapons you’re not using.

In this case, it’s better to do a little hand holding for the new players than add customization for the old players. it takes a little time to customize after you buy, but that’s really not so bad.

Yeah but you lose money … and that’s the problem

how are you losing money?

You buy a ship for XXX credits. you sell equipment you don’t need. if anything you’re gaining money.

If what you mean is you’re losing money compared to what it was before, that’s irrelevant. In beta you have to take the mindset of ‘everything before this patch doesn’t exist.’ when you first boot up. after a couple days you can then begin a comparison.

Not every system can be, or should be, made for veteran players.

You can farm more credits. you’re a vet, so on average you should have a higher EFF than anyone else. do so.

Ship prices are supposedly higher to count for the price of the mkl items, and when you sell the items you get less money for them then you payed for them. Ergo you lose money.

That is what he meant

Hmm… with the price hike on mk.I equipment and still without an option to test the equipment this is becoming a bit ridiculous…

The preinstalled stuff still seems to be priced at pre-patch prices, so it is “cheaper”, strictly speaking.

But, what is the point of mk.I items in the store then? I wouldn’t want any of those - I’d prefer to go for better mk.II items…

Preinstalled equipment could work for T1.

But, by the time you get to T2, you might have T2 loot, and preferences of what to spend money on.

At least if there was a choice!

Or better yet, if there was a certain “credit limit” that would allow to choose the preinstalled equipment.

You realize, this is all just stealth nerfs to income (of any kind. they nerfed just about everything in the last three patches)

“Lower repair costs? sure, but we’ll take those credits anyway by making loot worth like 1/8th of what it was, hahaha”

“Your ships now come with gear! But lol they are more expensive now. And you probably dont even need the modules either, hahaha”

So yeah. I don’t get it though. if the devs want to slow down progress/wealth acquisition, they should just be honest and say so. not giftwrap obvious nerfs.

I think what they done about that is xxxx.

A new player wont’ know this. you have to look at patches with a fresh mind as a new player.

How does this change the experience as you climb? not for someone who already climbed under different conditions.

Overall this is a good thing. When buying new ships of the same tier, you might have better equipment. but when jumping up a new tier, it’s better. simply because in the old system, you might get a shiny new ship, but then realize it has no equipment/mods meaning you can’t use it yet. it’s better for the experience overall.

I think what the OP really has a problem with isn’t that ships come with equipment, but that credit gains are slow, especially compared to rank exp gains. I personally hit rank 5 and could only afford about half of the ships. I’m now halfway through rank 6, and still have purchased all ships.

If anything, credit gains needs to match more closely to rank gains for an average player, since credit gains are now based on EFF. it’s acceptable for an average player to not be able to afford new ships by the time they rank up, but they should at least be able to afford all ships they have access to by the time they reach the next rank. this is especially important for ranks 1-3, where you’re still figuring out what ship suits your style.

for PvE, EFF needs to be adjusted. A lot of times myself and my buddy will carry two people who are screwing around killing ships instead of playing the objective. they are wasting time and inflating their EFF. worst part is, by the time we have an objective almost destroyed they swoop in and KS getting even more points. PvE EFF needs to be adjusted IMO.
