Hi guys. I spoke to one of your members in game.
I’ve playing since March and have been watching NASA in particular. I’m a uhh, let me use the words; a veteran Guild-, Clan-, Team-leader over a variety of genres. It’s very easy to identify the corps who stay together and those who are just another flavor; the sportsmanship was the first sign of maturity and after that I simply saw what looked like meticulously practiced squad play. Coming and taking a finer look at you guys today its just clear that guys like Tactical and Mustacho know exactly what a good environment should be.
At the time I had thought that I wouldn’t be lingering on Star Conflict so I’ve been drifting from one place to the next; there was DYN/2 or Dynamics or whatever, then there was Steel, and now I’m in some other corp. I want to play the game properly; as in, correctly for its own sake. I’m becoming a little frustrated overcoming that all important hurdle between myself and eventual mastery of Star Conflict; team play. I understand all the mechanics and roles and blah blah, but I’m sorely looking for an environment wherein the finer team-dynamics come into play so that I can engage them. My persistence in being a support player ( Mostly Guards, ECMs, Commands) has earned me a win loss of about 0.8. I’m at a point where I actively have to either join or create an environment, stop playing, or just grow progressively bored with a game where the individuals seem like insects following a chemically pre-ordained set of reactive behaviors.
For me, Star Conflict is ultimately an exercise in Zen and slightly more abstracted, in learning. I notice my moments, track changes and respond (as opposed to reacting) appropriately to the best of my abilities.
Ultimately I want Star Conflict to become an engagement where I can sit and process a wide range of variables with calm and focused ease. It’s a lovely state to be in; comfortable, processing and executive.
As for my stats. I make a point not to mind them. You can see them in game.
I have a guy I’m playing with currently whom I have a sense of loyalty to though, he hasn’t been playing all that long. I would like to join NASA because I am very sure that ESB and NASA actively adapt to explore the limits of Star Conflict as it changes from patch to patch. NASA members have months and months of proper squad-play experience over me, I would like to catch up and contribute.
Cons: The downside to CutleryDuck is that his internet is not always reliable. CutleryDuck does not spend his days refreshing forums anymore, he finds it distracts from the game. CutleryDuck is fine with social as long as the game is being played thus can come over as a xxxx if we’ve been waiting 20 minutes for another xxxx to decide whether he wants 10 points more shield resistance: MIND the game.
If you perhaps have space for two potential candidates that would be amazing, but I am speaking strictly for myself here. And of course any pre-requisites you might have will be acknowledged.
Biographical details? I’m a 27 year old South African Duck. Playing since March. For some reason I can only think of rhymes now.
Jolly Good Day Sirs
Quack.
