Multiple Loadouts Selectable in Hangar

So what I’m finding annoying right now is that in order to switch, let’s say, from a PvP loadout to a PvE loadout I’ve got to click everything into place. Sure, it only takes a couple minutes but it’s a couple minutes that could be avoided by having a loadout system akin to Battlefield/Cowadooty360noscopez on the hangar screen.

Basically, add some buttons for loadout “A/B/C” or “1/2/3” whatever tickles your fancy. Bonus points if we get to name them.

Would mean for example, switching from T2’s to T4’s would be painless.

Also, while we’re talking about ship loadouts, would really be that difficult to make it so you’re able to change a ships loadout in-game? Allows you to adapt to battlefield situations better.

Changing module loadout is anathema, even in games where it is technically possible (in EvE for example) Here you don’t have cargo space on ships, so it would be difficult to include this.

Also in EvE (just to keep an example of a game with similar module system) if you want to change a module, you have to be at full capacitor (full energy) and changing a single module will eat all your capacitor, which in most ships will take some minutes to recharge.

Of course, you have to be idle, without modules actives and I think you can’t be targeted or anything. So basically yes, it is possible, but nobody uses it.

Because I could just have different tanking modules and just switch them in the middle of the combat to adjust to incomming fire. That would be unballanced for frigates.

This goes into somewhat the same direction I’d say?

This isn’t what I meant when I was talking about switching in the heat of battle… I meant as in when you were at respawn screen.

Kind of, yes.

This isn’t what I meant when I was talking about switching in the heat of battle… I meant as in when you were at respawn screen.

Well that could be interesting I must say. I won’t use it, because I’m a strong defender of multipurpose builds, but it could be interesting.

I never realized swapping modules IN STATIONS was such an arduous task. Did EvE change that much since I left it? Or are you thinking of Carrier fitting services to change fits in the heat of battle? You’re confusing them.

Who were talking about module swapping in stations? we were talking about changing them in combat, not in a station. With the save loadout feature, changing modules in Eve is a piece of cake, as long as you are in a station, maintenance array or carrier.

And yes, you can change modules in the middle of space. It is the worst thing you can do, but in wormhole exploring sometimes it can be useful, or just the only viable way to do it.

I know that, but I assumed he meant in station.

But seeing as we’re talking about that, yes, mimicking EvE’s system would be the best bet. Just save the profiles and fits on the client and voila. You only have to tell the game to swap the modules out and you’re set.

Since you’re literally warping into battle, I think having any in-game changes would not make sense.  It’s not like you can re-fit your ship while warping

However, I’d like to see an A/B/C build option like Joppsta is saying…that’s a pretty decent idea.  I’d love to not lose track of which modules I actually use versus which ones I am currently using.  I find that I accidentally sell off modules when I’m not using them because I’ve gotten too used to a particular build.

In-game change I would not support.

I do support the load-out thing along with included fast ship selection.
