One of the serious problems in t3 is a lack of rank 9 ships in multiple classes.
Recon, Tackler, Empire Long Range each only go up to rank 8. This means that they lose out on a modifier slot, and the rank 9 implant.
For Tacklers, this is a particularly bad problem. I’ve seen dozens of players flying fully leveled Silent Foxes simply because there is no other non-premium Fed Tackler to fly in t3. The Silent Fox only gets 3 modules and 5 modifiers versus a rank 9’s 4 modules and 7 modifiers. There’s the Katana AE, but it’s an entirely different faction and still is down a modifier and the r9 implant.
There needs to be a free Tackler available at rank 9. The Parallax and Bear are both very powerful and are close to Pay2Win as there is no competing free rank 9 Tackler. Since the Federation has three sequential Tacklers in t4, which is more than most players want to level through anyways, I suggest moving the Wolf Mk II from rank 10 to rank 9, which places it in t3. It would need to be adjusted slightly - a modifier would need to be removed (perhaps the third capacitor slot) to keep its count even with the rest of t3. But it would allow the game’s ship count to remain the same and dramatically improve t3 gameplay. It would even help t4 a little as well - who wants to level three sequential ships in one tier, and when was the last time you used the first ship in a threepeat?
Plus, a t3 Tackler with 2 hull slots would make for some interesting builds.
Perhaps there are some changes to this suggestion that would help, but I do believe that this is an easy fix to a very real problem.
And maybe move down a gunship too from Empire.

Yeah, separating battle in different tiers is good for balance. If the balance in those tier weren’t totally failed.

The major problem of this game is the lack of players. The second one is the lack of balance in each tier. It should start with having the same implants and actives modules for all ships available in one tier. without rk8 and rk9 implant, and one less active, rk 7 ships have NO chance to do anything, and even less when facing veterans. And I still don’t understand why it’s a problem to point this out!
If a lot of players point the same problem and come with similar answers to solve it, maybe it’s time to take it seriously.
Wolf MK.II should be R9 tackler, like Prometheus Fire should be R9 gunship. DEagle and Nukem are far superior than Phobos.
We live now years with that, it was okay all the time, no fix needed.

This would also be a good idea, Phobos suffers from the same problem but at least there is a rank 9 Gunship (Wolf-M) to tide us over.

I disagree, since the Sigurdr is strictly better than the Cerberus, which should also be moved to rank 9. A rank 7 into a rank 8 is not the best idea.
However, the Devs won’t move any ship anywhere, they never did that, they won’t start with it.

The problem is not how good the existing tacklers are. It’s the fact that there is simply not a R9 standard tackler, but there are premiums. That is definitely P2W, no matter how you look at it. Sure, the Katana AE may be really good, but it is unfair to place premium ships in such a better position. Add this one ship to help balance the tackler issue.
We don’t want p2w, and this is a small example of it.
*EDIT* And furthermore, there really should just be a standard ship of each class available at all of the max levels for each tier. That would not kill premium purchases, imo, but make it more fair to non-premium players. Again, P2W is bad, and if people see that the 9 classes of ships are not fairly represented amongst the premium ships, people will run away from the game. It’s very simple, imo.

Yes, that is the main statement. But it would also be very beneficial to move the Prometheus Fire. I hadn’t realized that there were three t4 Empire Gunships when I made the post.

If anything it guarantees that newbies will do even worse in t3 because they’re stuck flying low-end ships.
Anyway, with only 2 active modules, rk7 ships are basically t2 ships. You have the same weird mechanic with rk 4, only 2 active in a battle where most ships have 3.
It’s somewhat less annoying for rk10 ships, coz they only have one less passive module. But add this to the lack of implants, and they are almost t3 ships too. + balancing lack of ship roles in t3.

The Phobos and Silent Fox are seriously underwhelming in T3. There needs to be more than one empire gunship and fed tackler in T3, as R7 barely cuts it in T3 battles.
The Prometheus Fire and Wolf Mk II are underwhelming for T4, so it would be logical to make them T3 (R9). This way players who don’t own the Parallax, Nukem, or DE can still play those roles and be effective.
